“the clubhouse on Beale for tourists & locals alike”
The Beale Street Tap Room is sort of the clubhouse on Beale for tourists and locals alike. Located at 168 Beale Street (right beside King's Palace Café), the Tap Room stands out in ways that might not be apparent on first glance. The club is smaller than many on Beale…long and skinny as they say. There are hundreds of rare beer cans lining the walls. For the sports fan, there are four TVs, including a huge flat screen. Most often, the tubes are tuned to (depending on season) Memphis Tiger basketball or SEC Sports in general. The bartenders are always happy to switch over to another channel for you if you happen to be a fan of a team in a different conference or league. The Tap Room features live music every Friday and Saturday. Each of the clubs on Beale has its own niche musically (blues, soul, DJs, etc.) and the Tap Room stands out as the only venue on the street that consistently features rock acts. We feature the best up and coming local and regional bands that you will hear no other place on the street.
