Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on November 15, 2023We spent three nights here in April 2017 and positioned our travel trailer at an opening in the mangoes out to the water. The back of our trailer was about five feet from the water. The site was grass and dirt and not very level. Even though the campground was pretty much full it was quiet at night and mostly during the day, too. Of course the wind and weather (severe thunderstorm) may have had something to do with that. The campground has most of the campsites positioned on the water. There are also some campsites inside the loop, but there is a very large central grassy area. We had water and electric hookups, but to be honest I had read some reviews that said the water smelled pretty bad, so we only used our onboard water. I never did check their water for a bad smell, though. While we did not use their restroom/showers my wife did check one of them out and said that while it was a bit dated, it was clean. We did not have a boat, but some of those who did were parking them at their campsites. The campground seemed clean and well maintained. We were able to get a few OTA TV channels and that came in handy for checking on the severe weather. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay here, in spite of some bad weather, and so did our dog.

For a county park, this place was great! Our site was backed up to the mangroves and water. Fairly modern, tiled showers. Clean.

Campground is located in a great area however the campsite layout was poor. Shared electric and water post, no real defined area for your assigned site. Sites are grass and compacted sand. Bathrooms are OLD and dingy. Only 1 dumpsite which means a LONG line at checkout. 90% old trailers and motor homes. Lots of permanent full time old trailers. The campground gardeners use old mowers to cut grass but mostly to cover the area in a cloud of dirt and rocks. Was awoken to the sounds of rocks denting our Airstream by a weedwacker. Only plus is the location and great kayak launch area off your site.

The very best feature of Long Point Park in Brevard County is the bridge-connected five-star rated Scout Island. Both yesterday and today we walked over the wooden foot bridge and never had to share the white sand and pine needle trails with anyone. Totally secluded and a much larger island than is perceived. You can hike from one end to the other and often take different trails depending on which shoreline you prefer. It is remarkable that few people take advantage of this beautiful and densely forested little island.
This campground is a blue-collar county park, fairly old, but well-maintained. It rests about a mile and a half inland off A1A. The point is surrounded by water from the Indian River and the majority of campsites border the mangrove shore. Elsewhere trees are scarce. Too much Florida sun on almost every campsite. The shared electric and water sites are also too close to each other for our tastes, but being the middle of the week it is not busy yet. We expect the closer we get to the weekend the better the chances are of having a neighbor who likes campfires and beer and the odds will improve to the extent our urgency for escape will exceed our comfort level. We head north early Friday morning so maybe we'll get lucky.
Showers have good pressure, but the fixtures are cheap and probably need replacing. This isn't a fancy park by any means, but good people camp here. Midweek found our neighbors to be respectful and quiet. There is a laundry room that would be fine, if needed. The breeze off the surrounding waters keep the air nice and cool provided you stay out of the direct sun. A Publix grocery store is ten miles north and easy to get to. Plenty of average restaurants and bars along A1A if eating out or socializing is your preference.

We have been full time Rving now for over a month and have never had any electrical issues. We have changed sites 4 times before coming to this park. We pulled in, plugged in how we usually do, and we thought the electrical was working so we went out to grab dinner. We came back an hour and a half later and everything was off (it was running on battery), except for the outlets. We tried different amps, flipped all of our breakers, checked all of the fuses, and even got help from the neighbor, and nothing worked. We went the night without power, just ice for our food. My boyfriend found maintenance and two people came over, and did not know anything, but said another maintenance guy was coming in at 9:30. The other guy came, said that the amps were fluctuating erratically, and he said that was why it was not working. He was working on the box for an hour and changed stuff out, he even mentioned that the box next to us also was not working and that he would have to fix it later. After he fixed stuff on the box, everything in the RV worked for the next 5 days that we were there. By then all of our food had gone bad (this was about 18 hours into this, and we didn't realize the issue until after places had closed). I called the front office, and no one was there so I left a message asking about getting 1 night stay comped since we couldn't use the electrical and our food went back. This lead to a woman with long silvery/blonde hair coming down, and being just rude to my boyfriend while I was working, she said that I was wrong that no one was there because someone is always there (how did I leave a message then?). She proceeded to come back 2 other times, and complain at my boyfriend. The third time, she came with another man and tried to tell us that it was our RV that had the electrical issue. By this point I had enough of these people pestering us, and excused ourselves inside from these people. (We were paying to be there!) As if that was not bad enough the bathroom was disgusting, the showers looked like they had not been cleaned in over a month, and the toilets and sinks were not much better. There was also construction going on. We were very close to our neighbors (Thankfully we had nice neighbors).
I will say the view was nice, we were able to put kayaks in behind our site- we saw dolphins close almost every day. Change the staff, upgrade the electrical, and clean the bathrooms!
Also Note: Next campground we went to plugged in and had ZERO issues!

Check in went well and we liked our site being close to the fishing bridge and Scout island. However, we couldn’t sleep with the sound of a generator nearby and trains all night. Maintenance cars started making noise before 7. Construction dust and noise was a nuisance

Camped in June. Very hot and a lot of mosquitoes. Most site have access to the water. Very convenient if you have a boat. Put it in the water when you get there. Tie it up to your rv. Then pull it out of the water when you leave.

We stayed here November 9-15th. This campground is on the Indian River and has some interesting features. It is a bit remote and there is only a bait shop nearby. All other stores and restaurants are a minimum of a 20 min drive. All campers are allowed to park however they want in this campground as long as you fit in the spot. Folks were backed in, pulled in, sideways, etc. Most spots are very shallow so there were some interesting configurations. A lot of the spots have a mini launch that you can launch a kayak or small boat from. There is a true boat ramp as well. A lot of the spots were muddy when we were there and would be difficult to navigate. Wifi is advertised, but it was very spotty. During the week, the campground is quiet, but come the weekend, it is busy and chaotic with trailers and boats and parties. We utilized the shower house and there are not enough showers for the amount of folks here. We did like that it was individual units though. The one we had was not so good, but it was the only one available at the time. There was a high and low shower head and the high one would not work. And the hot water truly barely got to warm. The last need to know is if you react to “no see ums” be cautious. They are so bad at this park that after 3 weeks, I am still covered in itchy bites. Just be prepared. We would go back to this one for the kayaking alone!

Great first half of stay. Rude neighbors left beer bottle on “our” picnic table; way too many people in their site; 4 dogs; hogged “our sites” waterfront area. We were unable to enjoy anything Saturday afternoon and evening.
We’d come again with full waterfront site and pray for better neighbors.
