Nature's Kennel Sled Dog Adventures--Premier Winter Sled Dog Adventures. DRIVE YOUR OWN DOG TEAM!! Owned by seven time Iditarod finisher Ed Stielstra and his wife, Tasha, Nature's Kennel is located in the Eastern Upper Peninsula. Nature's Kennel offers a variety of "drive-your-own-dog team" adventures ranging from overnight trips to full day and half day trips. The guided overnight trips are designed for beginners and allow guests to learn how to drive their own team and spend the night at winter camp. The full day and half day trips also allow guests to either drive their own team or to take a ride in the sled. No experience is necessary! Nature's Kennel also gives dog sled rides at Boyne Highlands Resort in Harbor Springs December 17 through January 1 and weekends January through March, 2013. Stay, ski, and dog sled! Reservations can be made by calling 1-800-GO-BOYNE Ed and Tasha are two of the Midwest's most accomplished mushers. Ed has finished Alaska's Iditarod in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012; Ed and Tasha have both won Marquette's UP 200 and Tasha completed La Grande Odyssee in France in 2006. They have both won numerous awards for their outstanding dog care. You'll never forget a visit to their impressive 120-dog kennel!
