Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on June 07, 2023This is lakeside. Nine mile easy travel dirt road. There were a couple multi slide out fifth wheels that made the trip. If you are just looking for a spot for the night there are plenty of side roads on the way.
The area for parking is wide open. I was here on Memorial Day weekend and the was still plenty of room. Only drawback, which can happen anywhere, is someone with a loud, cheap Costco generator running too long. If you have a kayak or fish - go for it.

Camped 5/11/21 (Tues night). Coming down Highway 530, you'll see a green "Lost Dog" sign pointing the turn. The camping area is at the end of the dirt road, and there was a 1 stall vault toilet there. The road was being graded at the time of our visit; it was a dusty drive, but no issues driving it. There are some off-shoot roads, but we didn't explore them.
On a Tuesday, it was empty except for one other camper who was not near us. We chose a spot somewhat close to the lakeside since we wanted to kayak. The reservoir was low, and there were some deep ruts in some spots, so if it's rainy, be cautious where you drive in the open area, especially nearer the water. Also there's a lot of goose poop and some cow poop. I cleaned up the area around the camper after set-up.
It was flat (no leveling needed), in full sun and not much trash. Had swarms of gnats, but at least they weren't biting mosquitoes. It was somewhat breezy. No cell service at all. Conveniences are back in Green River.

Road was a little rutted here and there but no issues. Our MDT and 48' fifth wheel made it with zero issues. Lots of space on the water. No TMobile but Starlink is showing 148/12.

Was looking for a couple day stop as we headed from Salt Lake City to Fort Collins, and this was a good distance. It's a 9 mile drive in on a dirt road, but for the most part it's in good shape. There are a few wash outs, but were passable if you take it slow. There's also a couple steep switch backs which were doable, but not super fun with a 39' 5th wheel.
If you want some place not so far from the road, there is also a good spot just after you cross the bridge (FR081 on Google maps).
Once you get down to the end you are treated to beautiful views of the lake and surrounding area. We found a pull off just before you head down to the water and took it. Some broken glass and old cans that we cleaned up as much as we could, but not littered with trash or anything.
The Maverick in Green River has potable water and RV dumps so you don't have to go too far with full tanks.
Up at the top of the hill there is usable cell service with T-mobile and AT&T. Down by the water it drops down to about nothing.

We arrived around 4pm, only one other person about 200yds away. Dirt road was no problem towing 30’ trailer. Beautiful spots right on the river with cliffs in the background. The dogs were able to be off leash and go for a swim. Perfect location until the bugs arrived at nightfall. The screen of our trailer accidentally popped open around 9pm and within 30 seconds hundreds of bug were inside. We had to close all windows since the smallest bugs fit thru the screens. More mosquitos in the morning than evening, but less overall bug pressure in the AM. Wore a bug suit and was able to go about our business with no issues. Early June ‘24, weather was perfect.
