Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on June 23, 2021We camped here after a week of hiking, paddling, and moutain biking. The fee includes use of Belknap Springs hot mineral pools (one mile away). Soaking in the warm waters was pure bliss even with light rain at times.
The campground was nicely tucked away off the highway and surrounded by trees. Very peaceful and quiet even when full over the weekend. We had 50 amp and full hookups. The price seemed very reasonable.
No cell service and weak as a kitten wifi even when the park was empty but who cares when you have all this natural beauty.

We had never camped here but the website convinced us that it would be a good spot. We like the area and the MacKenzie River is beautiful. The campsite is not much more than a gravel site, lacking any vegetation/ trees. All 14 sites are in complete view of each other. The neighbor directly across from us had four dogs running loose. After setting up and sitting under our awning for the awaited relaxation time, we decided we just weren’t there to look (and smell) our neighbor’s sewer line. The sites are very close together, the picnic tables are in disrepair and the lack of shade trees makes for a miserable camp spot. Backhoe construction was going on so it was noisy and dusty. We paid the $35 cancellation fee, packed back up, and left, although we had two nights reservations.

Went with friends for a few nights to relax. The campground is well located for activities in the Mackenzie River area.
We were able to check in at 1pm. To do so we had to go to the Belknap HS lodge. Average cost for RV spot $35 + county tax. The place was not busy at all. 16 spots - back up to woods, no a lot of privacy from other spots. OK services- water, electric (30A and 20A not 50A), on site sewer or campground dump.
Good:
EZ access
full priviledges at Belnap Hot springs resort
Quiet
level spots
Bathroom, shower and laundry on site
Bad:
a little dated- bathrooms need paint and basic maintenence
needs maintenence attention- water faucet leaks thru top, power pedestal parts not secure, 30A breaker kept tripping despite only 15 A draw.
Sites had garbage left in site,
Hokey wood placed over exposed wires in ground and uncovered wire connections to pump- accident begging to happen (at our site)
some sites had fire rings, other did not
Truely, this campground has the potential to be a 9+/10, but with the lack of attention to detail only comes in at a 5/10. They need a good maintenence worker to spend a week with attention to detail and fix the problems.
