No amenities. Sites are beautifully landscaped with railroad ties, fire pits, picnic tables and lantern holders. Road in is unpaved and steep. Last turn into campgrounds is sharp and could be difficult with large rigs.

Once we got here (which was a whole adventure... I'll just say don't trust Google maps to reroute you - see picture I posted with recommended detour!) the campground was really beautiful with the forestry and creek. The vault toilets, however, were not - it was like a cricket breeding ground.
There were two other sites with people the night we went, but several cars drove through and visited at the creek a bit or came to hike trails and leave. Heard a few distant coyotes and closer owls throughout the night too.
We are hammock campers and there were a few sites that would've worked for us but my hubby is super allergic to poison ivy so we had to be picky and ended up at site #1 where there was less of it. We'll definitely be back for more weekend adventures and to explore the trails some more.

Definitely out of the way but very nice. Fire pits and picnic tables, beware that it's a flood area, I dont know when it would be flooded but the pathway the water took was huge. Kind of cool to see dried out though! Might be a bit of a drive for an RV and I dont know where you would park.

Easy to find, nice small campground with a creek at the bottom of the hill. Easy trip to make. If it rains the day before there is a flood zone you will have to cross, only about 8-10ft wide.

Road is not really steep, but long and gradual. Well maintained gravel forest service road. Not suited for large rv’s/fifth wheels due to a few tight turns and low hanging branches.
No cell phone service, no trash receptacles, no water, no frills.
A couple of vault toilets.

Not bad for free. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because of the trash people have left behind. But like others have said, no frills, no cell. Pack in pack out. Pit toilets mostly clean and stocked with paper.
Not a lot of FREE camping options in KY, so I am grateful for this one.
