This is a great 'rest' stop or short stay campground. 3 day limit. It's clean, well maintained, very convenient for SW Nebraska RV'ers and tenters. Close to all shopping and restaurants in McCook. Free sites but the city asks for donations to help maintain the campground. There's a convenient dump station with potable water. All sites are drive through. It is a bit noisy with the highway on one side and the railroad on the other but it was not that bad inside our camper. Only 8 campsites available, first come first serve. We'll stay here whenever we're traveling this way again.

Found this spot while traveling through McCook, NE. Nice little city park with 7 pull-in spots. The are set up in a circle around a green. Each site has 20/30/50 amp electric and a picnic table. There are water spigots for potable water along with a dump station. There is a bath house with showers. We didn't use that, but it looked pretty decent. There is also another nice big field that was great for letting our dogs run and play to burn off some energy. The awesome part of this spot was it was FREE with a 3-day max stay. There is a box & envelopes available to make a donation...which we did.
This spot is just off the mainroad at the edge of town. There is a municipal airport nearby and train tracks. But, honestly, we weren't bother by any of it...especially with everything closed up and a/c running.
While there we went into McCook and hit up the Loop Brewing Co for some good beer and food!

First place i stayed at in Nebraska that had free electric...was a easy in and out, i didnt hear the train at night so wither didnt come by or i slept real well! Place was full on a Thursday night but i pulled in early afternoon and it was 2-3 spots to choose from. I'd say there are 8 spots in a loop, water for tanks in middle island which was just mowed that day - bathroom on site didnt use it - verizon was sluggish but seems the whole state is that way - got internet but couldnt stream

Definitely a must stop if passing through. Electric is available but water to have to fill up at a spigot. it's just a loop of Campsites. Some long rigs may not fit. Dont miss the dump station it's in a weird location.

The only reason this has two stars is because it has a bathroom and a place to lay your head! If you’re car camping don’t go! Such a sketchy place to be! Pretty sure there was some drug dealing going on, as a car was driving back-and-forth the entire night. Then I had a dude walk into my campsite with a flash light at 1am not sure what he was doing. Luckily he got freaked out when I told him to leave. Way better places to stay than this place. I will say it had electric hook ups which is a plus for free. But dang maybe it was just a bad time to go!

We stayed overnight. While the road was a bit busy, the park was clean and provided electric. It also has a dump station which is handy. The public bathrooms were closed for repairs so we didn’t see those. I’ll keep it mind when traveling through and stay again.

Great little city park with 7 electric sites. Donations accepted. Think there are restrooms but we didn’t use. Sites are spacious and there are picnic tables and very nicely manicured grassy areas at each site. The sites are pull offs from the main road....no backing required. Dump station available but not pull through. Only reason I didn’t give five stars is that the sites are not real level and some of the electric hookups don’t work. The 30 AMP on our pole didn’t work, but luckily we had an adapter and were able to use the 50 AMP. Some other folks came in and tried three different sites before they found a working electric hookup. We stayed in a 26 ft travel trailer.

Wooded area with grass trimmed neat. Free 50 amp, potable water at park, dump site with flush water, flush toilets with showers although closed for winter when we were here. Right in town next to road so some noise from road but for an overnight you can't complain. 3 days max.

Dump station you just pull up along side and run hose. Water hydrants available but not at sight or dump station. I had no electricity issues. Restrooms not very clean but didn’t use. Easier to access off Hwy from the East. Big trees and shade, nice grassy areas. Paid by Donation, envelopes and drop box by restrooms. Some Highway noise but not bad.

We really appreciated the free campground with 30/50 amp hook ups! However, we were expecting and planning on having access to water to fill up our tank, shower, etc. Alas, no water anywhere; not even in the sinks, toilets and showers in the bathhouse. No explanation, and no communication from the groundskeeper who saw us hooking up to the spigot either. The turn into the park is Very tight; we could not negotiate the turn and had to stop and unhook our toad while it was partially in the 4 lane highway. This morning something akin to pile-driving started at about 630 am, but it only lasted for 5 minutes or so. All that aside, it was nice, clean and free. There is a Walmart all the way across town where we stocked up on groceries. During the morning dog walk I checked the water spigots out of curiosity, and it was back on! We'll take at least half a tank, just in case we end up boon docking in Colorado.
