“fresh bread & fresh tunes”
Live at the Bieroc started out as a dream of a couple of music lovers in McCook. Dale Dueland and Matt Sehnert studied several music venues and came up with a concept that took advantage of their strengths and music preferences. The result has been an evolving “listening room”. The internet has allowed the Bieroc Cafe to join a fraternity of singer/songwriters and music venues. The traveling troubadours need places to share their talent as they cross the United States. The Bieroc venue has become a little oasis in rural America where live, original music can be played and appreciated. The Live at the Bieroc format starts with a social time and then dinner. Guests have an opportunity to enjoy a refreshment while chatting with friends and meeting new friends. Dinner consists of a varied menu…some casual…some quite elegant. The show is opened by a local artist who can sing, play the guitar or piano, or share their talent in some other way. This is followed by a headlining act doing 2 sets with a dessert at intermission. The headliners are national musicians. They are usually singer/songwriters who fall somewhere in the folk genre. Many have had commercial success selling their songs to famous singers. For instance, singer/songwriter Steve Seskin has written songs for Tim McGraw, Mark Wills, Neal McCoy, Michael Montgomery, Ricochet, Colin Raye, Kenny Chesney, John Michael Montgomery, and Brian McComas. Many of these artists also write music for movies and television shows. Although these artists write for other people, they still love to perform. It has been a pleasure to hear these artists in an acoustic setting playing and singing live music. They tell stories and thoroughly entertain their audience This music series is made possible by some very wonderful volunteers including impresarios –Dale and Mary Dueland, photographer/lights man - Tor Olson, sound man – Lonnie Weyeneth, and hosts Walt and Jean Sehnert. Other important components are the Bieroc Café’s fantastic staff, the talented artist, event sponsors and a very considerate and cultured audience that has grown from Southwest Nebraska and Northwest Kansas. It has been a real thrill to see the Live at the Bieroc Series grow into a special cultural event. With an email list of over 700 names, patrons regularly travel from North Platte, Holdrege, Imperial and Northern Kansas to be absorbed in these soul-filling concerts. The Bieroc crew would like to invite everyone to come enjoy a show “Live at the Bieroc”!

Exorbitant prices for minimal portions. The quiche we had was $8, for a tiny, tiny slice that was less than 1" thick. Not your typical slice. Sandwiches are small with little ingredients, but... Read more
I'm eating this restaurant relative to the city. Small town bakery. Nice environment and great customer service Food was ok but probably good for the limited options of the town. Read more
