Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on August 27, 2023We only popped in for an overnight, but I'm happy we did. The place was nearly empty in early Jan but the couple running the place came out to greet us and help us settle in. We were gone the first thing in the morning, but our stay was just right! Glad to have sites available that we could just pull right into, and not have to unhitch.

Trying to get home to CA, escaping COVID-19 and crowds, we couldn’t find a place in Artesia late in the day, and lucked onto this one- so glad we were turned away earlier.
Quiet camp setting, nice bathhouse, right next to the river. Laundry, full HUs, WiFi (can be spotty depending on how many are logged in). Lots to do in the area. Families with kids were here trying to keep them occupied while schools are closed due to the virus, but so much room for them to play they were never a bother.
Some periodic road noise, but really quiet at night. Sites are level, gravel, w/ picnic table and some big trees.
It’s cold-7000+ ft elevation, bring your jackets! We escaped the howling winds of the Carlsbad area, and happily traded them for brisk mountain air.

Granted it was the dead of winter but it was a very quiet spot. Wonderful clean and warm “bath house “. So kind to accommodate me past usual closing time so I could finish my laundry

We stayed in a 50 amp RV spot for 8 days. Campground is well kept with friendly staff. They have decent bathrooms and reasonably priced laundry.
Was great August weather with highs in upper 80’s and lows in upper 40’s. Previously we were camped near White Sands with it at 100-110 during the day and lows in the upper 70’s so this was a much needed relief.
