Confirmed by 5 users | Last reported on March 31, 2024West Pinal Park sits right next to I-8, so while it isn't entirely peaceful with regard to noise, the landscape and lack of other campers makes up for it.
During our stay, we saw 2 other RV's in addition to the host camper. The other RV's only stayed a few nights, so for the most part we were alone for most of our stay.
The campground loop is at least a mile long, so sites have a lot of space between them, and the group sites are quite far from the individual sites.
Our old dog loves the flat sandy roads and hasn't had an issue with the cacti.
There aren't any services, no water or trash.

Large, spacious, pull-throughs, covered picnic table, easy access. Road noise, yes but to be expected camping near the highway. There was some trash laying around, several cigarette butts at our site, annoying (not biting) flies. The large bat (approx. 18-24" wingspan) flying around the tall street light was kinda cool. Porta-potty units throughout campsite, covered with hundreds of flies. Luckily we didn't need to use them. Not saying that the flies are here all the time, it's just that they are here right now (11/18/18). We did not spend any time outside because of this. There were tiny gnats that made it through the window screens. Luckily is was cool enough that we could close the windows in the evening. We have a 35' class A and were a little apprehensive about driving it around the campground loops to look for a spot. There appear to be several small washes that have been graded out, making some surfaces a bit soft. We did not feel comfortable driving our 14 ton rig across them. Not saying you would get stuck but we did not want to take that chance. If you have a big heavy rig, just be cognizant of that. We unhooked our tow vehicle and drove around first, then settled in #7, just inside the fee station on firm ground. Fee is $10 but we only paid $5 using Passport America. I would only stay here again for $5 if nothing else was available but probably not for $10. In hindsight we wished we had stayed at a free spot called Lost Horse Tank at Exit 140, just off of I-8. I cannot say if it would have been better or worse as we have not stayed there. This campground is not terrible. It's cheap enough, big enough, good cell service, plenty of TV stations, easy 'entry' access...just wasn't our cup of tea so much.

We were the only rig in this park the night we stayed. The park is situated between two highways but it is very clean, well-maintained and safe. Great stop after driving all day. No services though there are porta-potties and they had just been serviced recently.

I don't know where the other reviews are coming from but this is a gem. Yeah, no hook ups but most RVs have tanks.
Dump station just 5 miles away.
Each site has a covered table with concrete pad and BBQ. You have to look for your neighbor if you have one. This place is almost always empty.

Great little park for an overnight traveling through the area. Camp host keeps the road washouts filled in and sites are raked clean. BBQ grills clean and in great shape. Easy on/off I-10.

Clean, well maintained campground. We parked away from main highway so very little noise. Dark at night for star gazing. Good cell service with T Mobile.

Easy in and out big drive through spaces with covered tables and grill area. Level enough with well maintained dirt roads. Not too quiet due to being situated between two major roads but noise subsides around 10 pm, Really great views of the mountains.

Our first stay at this park was for 7 days in November 2019 on our way to Tucson. The entrance to this park is open 24/7 – the no-gate and no-security environment allows overnight activity. This is a nice primitive/natural park - every site has a covered picnic table on a cement slab. The park it is very close to the corridor that is known for criminal Mexican activity (research Pinal County/Vekol Valley and watch related You Tube videos). If you are going to stay here, you should be carrying something for protection. In November, there was a park host who regularly patrolled the area which gave us a sense of security and safety. We stopped here again in February 2020, and there was no park host present. We did not feel safe. We stayed one night and left. Park is great during the day, but it is spooky after the sun goes down.
