This large cottonwood tree still stands where Walt Disney and his sister Ruth played and waded in the spring that runs at its base.
Our family enjoyed this quick stretch stop on a long drive. The paths were well kept, signing the inside of the barn was fun, and the info signs were great! We were confused and wandered a while actually looking for the dreaming tree. It fell in a storm 2 years ago. There is a "son of the dreaming tree" and we still enjoyed the stop. It just would have been an appropriately quicker stop if we had not wasted time hunting for the original dreaming tree.
To walk where Walt walked? Yes please! The whole experience in Marceline was crazy. Seeing the museum, and all the different things about what he lived, his goals and ambitions. Amazing really. This barn he had recreated in his backyard in California.
Well done, Marceline! Thanks for the memories and stories.
