Confirmed by 8 users | Last reported on May 23, 2020Last winter we stayed at Jolly Roger for about 10 days and liked it so much we came back for 15 days this year. JR is on the waterfront, has a boat launch ramp, and a beautiful big pool. Book early- they fill up. We are midway through our stay and are currently in a spot backed up to anew board fence. We move on Monday to a sea wall site with the back window 10 ft from the water. JR is expensive, but in line with other RV parks in the keys. Lots of trees and grass. Sites are close together- not spacious like the state parks. The park sponsored a pulled pork dinner (free) last night. About 100 campers came and brought a covered fish to share. Campers know how to cook!

Unfortunately, due to location popularity & folks willing to pay, all parks on the Keys get away with charging exorbitant prices. This park has tight interior roads not big rig friendly. Sites are very close together. Bath/shower was not kept clean, someone had a blowout in toilet and the shower had snot and all manner of filth on the wall.Sugar ants were problematic. There was a constant sewer odor throughout the park. Garbage is only picked up curbside at 0900 hrs. daily & the park requires you not put garbage out until morning. Keeping garbage in rig lends to sugar ant problem. The pool was nicely maintained but not enough chairs available for guests.

We liked our stay here. It was pricey (like all private parks in the Keys), but had a nice relaxed vibe, staff were really friendly, sunsets were great, location was good and the sites were decent. Plus it was super dog-friendly.
The campsites are definitely not fancy. They're just just grassy/bare-ground sites with full hookups (including cable TV) and somewhat varying size and quality. Pretty typical private park side-by-side arrangement although there’s decent vegetation/trees throughout to break up the monotony. What you pay for the sites varies by type. Interior sites are the smallest (and cheapest $84/night) and many rows here have RVs both to the side and in the back of them. The sites closest to the road (#112-130) get quite a bit of road noise and would be my least favorite choice, but the sites in the middle of the campground were quiet, decently roomy and much nicer. Interior Plus ($90/night) and Premium sites ($93/night) are the longest/widest and almost all provide plenty of space for any-sized rig. Seawall sites ($95/night) have full water-views, but vary a bit in size -> sites #159-170 are somewhat short and close together whereas sites H1-H5 are “prime” with lots of space and some of the very nicest views in camp. We had an Interior site smack in the middle of the campground (#27) and really enjoyed it. We had trees/shade, a lovely “sitting area”, zero road noise and were close to both the on-site off-leash dog park and the water. From the park we enjoyed easy sightseeing trips into Marathon, Big Pine and Key West as well as daily dips in the heated pool and sunsets by the water (complete with traditional Conch Call). We enjoyed our stay and would come again.
On-site WiFi was free, but not really usable. However GREAT cell signal (ATT, Verizon & T-Mobile). Also you can get weekly/monthly and season-based discounts depending on when you come. Passport America does apply in off-season (staring April).

We try to only stay at the parks that get four or five stars on campendium. Unless we can't and then we try to do our best for the time and place. We are usually lucky because we fly by the seat of our pants usually booking places when we arrive or on our drive to our new location. We might be in Haines one day and then boom six days later we are outside of Baltimore. So when we couldn't book Coral Reef State park and didn't have a place for the night. We pre booked sights down on Key West for both Thanksgiving and my birthday, but we needed to kill a night so we ended at the mediocre camp ground the Jolly Roger. The park has a lot of potential being right on the water with a pool and a beautiful dock and a bout launch, but the sights are small the grass is funky. For it's location it fared well for the hurricane and the price wasn't bad compared to other private camp ground on the water in Florida where we payed 100 bucks or more.

campground pool and bathrooms all were very clean. Everyone was nice and friendly. Only thing was our campsite when it rained it flooded and once it receded it was muddy so we couldn't use the outdoor kitchen a few times because it was to deep. The service guy did say that if it kept happening he would pump it out but it was almost our last night staying, notice dog crap on our site and that's not what you want to be standing in when the waters deep. The park guy said they were going to be redoing the sites which should help a lot. Notice to many dogs not on there leashes unsupervised. Would definitely camp and recommend here again just on another site.

We're still in our 1st year of RVing, and this was our first time bringing our 1yo camper to the Keys. After a very long drive (because of truck issues), we arrived after the office was closed, but the paperwork was there waiting for us just outside the office. Hookup was easy, and we loved the site location. It wasn't on the water, but we still had some waterviews, and it was a short walk to the water, pool, bathrooms, and office. The amenities were great. Pool was chilled perfectly, bathrooms were very clean, and being able to snorkel just off of the beach was great. Being a Gulf coast resident, we again had the pleasure of beautiful sunsets each night. The next morning when I went into the office, the staff referred me to some places to get my truck worked on, and the referral was fantastic. We love Marathon, and hope to move there someday (preferably sooner than later). Looking forward to heading back to Jolly Roger again soon! Our new favorite park!

Always enjoy staying here on the waterfront, wasn’t very crowded in August. We live in North Florida and always enjoy the Keys. We were born and have lived in Florida our whole lives (67 years). So much to do in Florida.

We went in September which is the off season in the Keys so they were offering special rates. Because it was off season we have our pick of sites (except the waterfront sites which weren't included in the special rate). However, we found a great site with shade trees and an east- facing exposure (which is absolutely necessary in Florida in the summer)!!! It was also close to the lovely pool, extremely clean bathrooms, laundry, and the water, and boat ramp. The site was a very nice size with plenty of shade. It was very quiet at this time of year. The site was grassy with a large cement pad and picnic table. Lots of cable channels too. WiFi was OK for the most part.
I think some of the sites may be close together in other parts of the camp but the center and Premium sites were quite large.
We brought our boat, used their boat launch, and docked it in their harbour. It was perfect.
I also like being in Marathon as there's plenty of places to eat and things to do and not too far from Key West, Islamarada, etc.

The crew was nice and accommodating. The spots are all grass/gravel but ours was perfectly level and there was a brick paver patio. Pool was nice. It's a bit of a hike to Key West but Marathon is nice in it's own right. The price was the cheapest we could find in the keys as well. We would definitely stay here again.
