Just a quick stop in Mackinac city! Nice little campground. We had a deep site, water and electric only. Dump station available. Beautiful view of the bridge from the campground beach. It was a busy area this time of year (August) but did not have any issues. The road going through the campground is not very wide so bring your A game backing up skills! Especially when the campground is full and people are parked by the road. Definitely would stay again.

We were close to the road, no trees with water & 50amp hook up (I believe there was only one dump station) but the other campers seemed to have beautiful sites. The property has waterfront with a great view of Big Mac bridge, a playground & swing. A fun hang out spot for campers. We also used the bike pathway to go into town (accessed across highway about 1/8mi down). The Lumberjack show just past the campground was also a hoot!

We lucked out with site 79, three sites up from the lake and great view of the Mackinac Bridge and Island. The sites are grass and fairly close together, but the campground couldn't be more convenient to downtown. The owners are super friendly, check in was quick, and we enjoyed the community bonfire on the beach each evening. The store is well stocked with local beer and wine. We bought our ferry tickets to the island at the store and took the shuttle right from the campground. Very convenient.
The only downside is that one of the women's showers is broken making the two remaining very busy. Also, the fire ring in our site is situated very close to the utilities which made us a bit nervous to start a fire.

Nice campground. Close to Mackinaw City. On Lake Huron. Really nice view of the bridge. Lots of kids even though it was after Labor Day. It was quiet after 9-930pm. If your going to Mackinaw Island, the shuttle bus picks you up at the park. No charge. They're fast and the shuttles are very nice. They have a discount ferry ticket if you buy it at the campground. The shuttle brings back to campground after you return. Very nice. Owners nice. They have a dump station and showers. Water and electric at each site.

Nice fairly large site. Quiet for being completely full. Close to everything. My only drawback is not FHU and wimpy showers.

I was optimistic about this campground due to many positive reviews, but as fulltime RVers, we hated it (sorry!!).

The best things about it are their location and the view of the Mackinaw Bridge from the campground.

Staff was friendly and when checking in told us we had a nice large site. When we arrived, there were multiple pieces of trash scattered on our site. Our picnic table was peeling like crazy, so we had to put a cover on it. The site wasn't tiny, but it was small and there is nothing separating most of the sites. We actually did have some bushes on the one side, but on the other side we had tent campers facing our front door less than 10 feet away, which was awkward. After the tent campers left, our next neighbor was inconsiderate and their slide was hanging several feet into our site, which made our site feel tiny and claustrophobic.

There are 2-3 bars of verizon here, but the towers are overloaded so the service was incredibly slow and almost unworkable, even with boosters. It felt more like 1 bar, or even 3G.

Another issue I had was the beachfront they advertise. The beachfront was almost all taped off due to high water levels and erosion. One day our kids were looking through a viewfinder they had set up and then the next day we were told not to play on that piece of concrete because the water was going to sweep it away any day. Um.... yikes! There is essentially NO beachfront, so this really shouldn't be advertised on their website. I wish I had taken a photo because it was definitely one of those "expectation vs. reality" moments.

I know people love this place, so I was hesitant to say anything negative, but I just wanted to throw out there that this is probably a beloved place by weekenders and vacationers, but not a great place for fulltime RVers. We would not stay here again... or if we did it would be a 1-2 night stay just so we could get to the island.

Was honestly stunned that we were charged $180 for 3 nights for only a partial hookup. I do love this place though. Extremely close to the bridge with a great view. I can’t get over the price with not much for the kids to do. No pool, a playground that wasn’t worth much. We’ve payed $40 a night for most places and they at least have a pool. I would stay here again but would definitely try to negotiate a better price unless I was down by the water.

Campground and bathrooms are very clean. Staff friendly and available if needed. Matt gave us a complete rundown of activities available in the city plus all the amenities the city has to offer. Very close to the city. Beautiful view of the lake and bridge. It is a nice flat ride by bicycle the ferry restaurants, brew pubs etc. You do hear the interstate traffic but that is expected being so close to the city and bride. This is an older park, but the owners are obviously making an effort to maintain a pleasant environment for guests. We had an interior site, when we would have preferred to be on the outside of the loop, but there were enough trees around our site that it ended up having a decent amount of privacy. I was also worried that having the sites perpendicular to the road (instead of angled) would make it hard to park, but the loop road is wide enough that we had no trouble backing in. Having the views of the lake, bridge, and downtown were nice, but the best aspect of the park was its location so close to town. There is a well-maintained bike trail into town on the other side of US 23, and it was a very short drive. Being on the route for the ferry shuttles meant that we could avoid the hassle of parking downtown. It was easy to get around town to see lighthouses, museums, etc. While I wouldn't consider this a "destination park" it met our needs just fine for visiting Mackinaw City. The somewhat antiquated aspects of the park were the placement of utilities -- the shared posts were really far for some campers to reach -- and the setup in the showers with comically short "privacy" doors. But the bathhouse was clean, the staff were friendly, and we considered this spot a decent value in comparison to other options in the area. Internet speeds on AT&T were just fine for streaming.
