Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on September 01, 2018We wanted to come up to see the "blue ice" in early March and snow was still on the ground. When we contacted park owner told us to come on up even though it had not opened for season yet. The park owner turned on electric for us. They had the cleanest vault toilets ever!! We definitely will be staying there again!! Perfect location to Mackinaw City and all the fun!

Very nice, shaded, free WiFi , and accessible. I can close out the traffic noise. Made reservations by phone and paid when we got there . So easy . The way it should be. No frills, but a safe place that is comfortable .

Check-in board at office will show assigned sites and what's available for a particular night. Fill out form, put money in envelope and drop it through the slot in door. Easy in/out for big rigs, but the sites are on grass. Ground appeared to be well compacted, we didn't sink. We have a 40' Class A diesel, with tag axle. Entry road is paved, interior roads are dirt/gravel. All sites are pull-through. In the event you can't find another campground for the night, there is an overflow lot, which is the same price as the hook up sites. Although the map on the website looks as though row 1 sites might not be pull-through, there is plenty of space between the sites and the fence in order to pull out. There is 30 amp electric and a water hook up at sites. Our breaker tripped a couple of times. Dump station easily accessible. There are no shower or laundry facilities at this park. There are a couple of out houses. The road between rows 1 and 2 had some overhanging branches. The third row might be best for larger rigs since there are no trees on row 3. Our Verizon data and cell service worked well. There is no fenced pet area, but there is plenty of space to walk pets. The campground offers food items (brats, buns, eggs, butter, water, sodas, etc.) on the honor system. Nice touch! There is a pricing chart on the refrigerator. Based on our experience, don't expect quiet hours to be honored here. We would stay again if passing through the area.

We spent 2 nights here to explore the area before crossing the bridge to the UP. The campground is just minutes away from downtown.
The park is level and shaded with spacious campsites. Each site has water and electric, a sturdy picnic table in very good condition, a grill, and a fire ring.
There is ice and firewood available onsite. In addition to that there is a self service refrigerator that offers soft drinks and fresh country eggs from the chickens who live in the campground!
There are pit toilets available.
This campground was a great home base for exploring the area!

This is a great find for folks looking for a reasonably priced, basic campground in Mackinaw City.
The campground's location is fantastic. It takes less than 10 minutes to drive from the campground to the Shepler's Ferry parking area. The main dock, from which the ferries depart, and where several restaurants, shops, and the Mackinaw Icebreaker are located, is just 2 or 3 minutes farther. The campground is located in a perfect spot for exploring the area.
Sites are pretty close to one another with minimal privacy. Sites in the first row have some trees which certainly help the overall feel, but sites in the second two rows are basically open. It's not the worst we've seen by any stretch, but its definitely not spacious nor private.
You can call to make reservations. Both times I called, I left a message and then received a return call relatively quickly. Reservation information is on a board at the front. Unreserved sites are available FCFS. The information board is helpful and easy to use, the firewood was incredibly cheap - just $4.00 for a whole crate full of it, and they also sell eggs and other products on an honor system. We very much appreciated that they have maintained reasonable prices.
The value here was outstanding. It's rare we find campgrounds that cost only $20 per night these days, and given the campground's proximity to super touristy Mackinac Island, it's a steal. This is a family owned campground and, apparently, they have decided to maintain the prices that were set long ago. We thought it was great and we are sure others appreciate it too.
We would definitely stay here again.

No toilet paper in men’s or women’s bathroom. Pile of crap in the corner of the men’s bathroom. No Wi-Fi. … Never again

The campground uses the word “city” to imply a municipal connection. It’s not true. The “restrooms” means a pit toilet with no toilet paper and human feces on the floor. Our campsite had so much goose poop you couldn’t walk without stepping in it. No picnic table, fire pits were just holes dug in the ground (if the site had one). Sites we’re grass and would definitely be a fire danger. No usable phone number and no camp host. I would NEVER stay here again.

This is a quiet spot off season, and our third stay. Ask about dry camping if you have solar / battery in your rig. The regular rate is $40 per night. There are many good solar spots in the campground.
They have a decent dump station that is easy to access. There is a dumpster to use as well. No WiFi, but Verizon works well here. Lots are ok sized for our 28 foot TT.
Five minutes to the Big Mac bridge and Mackinac City / Ferry services.
The general condition of the facility is still good, but is lacking somewhat here and there.
Some minor road noise form I75 nearby.
