To reach the lighthouse, you'll need to park and walk almost a half mile. It's easy terrain for most of the way, some is concrete and blacktop, some is wooden dock, some is a narrow, finely-crushed rock path. Nothing steep. The path is only open to Michigan residents Tuesdays and Thursdays, we were out-of-state visitors and were allowed in on a Monday. It's in a gated community, the gate attendant lets you in.
You can see the lighthouse from across the harbor at a public beach, but you can't walk up to it from that side.
