Flag Ponds Nature Park is a nature preserve located in Lusby, Maryland along the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. It is operated by the Calvert County Department of Natural Resources and supported by Battle Creek Nature Education Society.
This park is nice but if you want to get in make sure you are there before 1100 the park fills up fast and then you have to wait in line for someone to leave before they will let you in. The trails are nice but not marked very well there is one spot on one of the trails that you have to climb up the side of a cliff the steps are not in the best condition considering they are in the elements. My wife and I walked all the trails and it's about 5 miles total distance. There is a area that has a covered building to go in and take photos just walk softly when you approach the building to no scare off the wildlife.
