Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on November 05, 2023I have camped here many years ago while dirt bike riding. Vast area for dirt biking. Petroglyphs in the area. Large dry lake that can be dusty if it is windy or a race weekend of the HAMMER off road race. Stop at Barstow BLM office on SR247 and get map and information about other things in the area to see and do. The road into the lake can be washboard at times. There are no facilities at the lake, no water, restrooms. just open land and desert plants. It is not really a campground.

We ended up here when the area campgrounds were full. We were prepared for anything goes, it is an OHV area, it's to be expected. The locals didn't disappoint. Music, fireworks, you name it they had it. All settled down around 2 am.
What we didn't expect was the trash, piles, and piles amongst smaller scattered trash, mainly used toilet paper. 💩 Burned tents, chairs, canopies, even a burned out mattress with remaining spring, and so much broken glass EVERYWHERE. It's become part of the landscape, glistening in the sun.
This is not somewhere you want to be unless you don't give a $#@&!

Rough dirt roads to this area. Arrived during the King of the Hammer off road events. Thousands of campers and RV's that arrived all through the night. RZR's , fireworks, parties all night. Not a quiet place for an overnight pullout.
