Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on February 22, 2023We stayed here for Derby weekend and it was fantastic. The workers were very helpful to me when I had problems with my coach. They also had a convenient fresh water hookup. We arrived around 11:30pm Friday night and we were able to check in. When you pull into the parking lot turn right and keep driving back to the right and you’ll see the gate house to check in. They gave us an escort to show us to our site and he helped guide me into my space. Keep in mind this is dry camping and you’re in a gravel parking lot so there are no amenities per se but they do have 50amp service available on several of the sites for an additional fee. However, the proximity to Churchill Downs and the people who you’ll be camping with make the experience well worth it. We met some great people there, enjoyed the bar area that is on site, and had a very nice time. We’ll be back again next year.

This is a parking lot about a mile from Churchill Downs. Sites are mostly unmarked pavement with some grass. 30 or 50 amp at some sites. Separate dump and water fill. Not much as far as sites go but great location. Slow times with covid so only a couple other vehicles were there. Would be a blast during Derby week.

I called ahead and made a reservation. Very pleasant both on the phone and upon arrival, but once I saw the location I was very uncomfortable about the safety of the area so I left. I always say trust your instincts and this place was a NO!

Saw no reviews, so we went for it. We parked on a weeknight with no flea market in session, and of course, the Kentucky Derby is still months away. It’s convenient to the derby, and probably good for the flea market vendors, but not really OK for your average camper. If we were fussy, we would’ve turned around and left. Closest businesses are a saloon, a used car lot and an adult bookstore along with the tattoo parlor for your convenience.
