Ghiradelli Soda Fountain

The Disney Soda Fountain/Ghiradelli Soda Fountain is located right next to the iconic El Capitan theater.

The Soda Fountain is an old fashioned ice cream parlor with counter service, an ice cream window to the street and restaurant seating. Soda jerks behind the counter make sodas, malts, floats, and sundaes made with Dewar’s Ice Cream. The home-made ice cream is brought in weekly from Dewar’s Ice Cream and Candy Shop in Bakersfield, California.

The right side of the shop is the Studio Store with Disney DVDs and merchandise from various Disney movies. An interactive kiosk gives you access to the entire Buena Vista Home Entertainment catalogue with old, new and hard to find Disney DVDs and videos.

Overall, The Disney Soda Fountain and Studio Store is a fun place to go for ice cream with the kids as long as you prep them ahead of time whether there will or won't be any purchases made at the Studio Store. Disney souvenir bowls, which come with some of the ice cream dishes and the fruit bowl, at least give kids something to carry out with them if you're not shopping.
