Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on July 24, 2022The host were very friendly and kept the bathrooms and showers very clean. The beach is a five minute walk on a private path. We use the blackstone to make pancakes one morning. It just bit more on the pricy side for what we usually go for and was lacking some amenities such as a dump/full station. You have to get the full hookup sites if you want those amenities. It would be nice to have more than two showers and laundry for the price in my opinion.
One other item to note is the sites closest to the beach (believe it is 15-19) are very sandy. Like some deep sand, so was very glad we hadn’t booked those as in a Dodge Ram Promaster we probably would have gotten stuck. These probably aren’t bad for trucks, 4WD, or small cars that can stay off the deep sandy parts.

There were no Campendium reviews for this place so I had to go with Google reviews, and I am absolutely baffled by the Google reviews for The Lamp Camp. The Lamp Camp has two things going for it, the easy access to the beach and the friendliness of the people camping there. They get a star for each. Now for the ugly side...Upon arrival we were assigned a campsite, they called it a "double site" that could accommodate up to a 38 ft RV (we're a 36 ft fifth wheel) When it became obvious that it could NOT, they said that I could move the fire pit (which meant spending 20 minutes raking up rusty nails along with random findings of more throughout our stay) and park diagonally. This involved threading the RV between septic tank lids on the driver's side, power post (30 amp) on the other side along with the dump (which was wedged tightly against the power post), the random extra water spigot in back, and the large branches behind our air conditioner. There were also random water, power, and capped off sewer hookup stubbed up around the site. The manner in which we had to park and the random unusable utility hookups made our "double site" shrink considerably. We could only fit in one small slot and our clearances had to be VERY precise. We had less than a foot of clearance on each side, 3/8" inch front to back for our stairs and tipout to clear the power pole, and less than an inch to prevent a large branch from damaging our air conditioner. The manager told me, with a straight face, that I could drive/park on the plastic tank lids! Having worked in the construction trades all my life I can tell you from personal observation that if you want to endure an endless stream of berating obscenities from a septic drainfield installer, drive over his tank lid (I watched a carpenter do this). One of their tank lids was already cracked when I arrived. I told them, but they didn't seem concerned. Many thanks, however, to our next door neighbors who helped guide us in (he was a former commercial truck driver) and our neighbors across from us who, without even bring asked, offered to move their truck. Because we were in at an angle, the power hookup hung slightly over our steps. To dump, I had to lift the steps and run 20 ft of sewer hose under the trailer. It was incredibly unpleasant/uncomfortable crawling on crushed rock and stringing sewer hose and the hose support. I felt taken advantage of, $72 a night should at least buy you a site that doesn't require you to work this hard just to stay in it. In conclusion, if your trailer is over 26 ft and you don't get one of the first four "double sites", be prepared for your site's usability to shrink dramatically. It looks like the owner bought an old and typical for the area campground, renovated the bathroom and clubhouse, but did nothing with the hookups. With a little more work and effort, this campground could be worth the top$$ they are charging for it.

Loved our time at The Lamp Camp. Just a few steps from the coast, a killer vibe, and great amenities. The staff called day of to make sure all was well. Never had a camping spot do that before. Not sure about the complainants about the site sizes. Camping sites on the coast are usually narrow, so if your got a huge rig you better be proficient at maneuvering it. We are absolutely gonna come back. My only complaint is that we stayed 4 days instead of a week. Thanks Lamp Camp. Your spot is dope.
