Park in any of many level spots, without obstructing movement by any other vehicles. Unlighted, quiet, appears safe. No services of any kind: no toilets, no tables, no potable water, no trash receptacles. Dump station at nearby tuttle Creek BLM Campground; please see that listing. Pack out your trash. Very crowded on weekends and holidays, especially in the fall and spring. Incredibly scenic, 14000 foot peaks, rock formations, arches, etc.Open all year. No reservations, first come, first served. Directions
From US 395 in center of Lone Pine, CA, turn W on Portal Road & go ~ 2.7 miles, then R on Movie Road (a graded dirt road). Dispersed camping sites are along Movie Road. Park in one of the pullouts, or find one of the many camping nooks nestled among the rocks.
