Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on March 24, 2021Paid $14+$4 online convenience fee. Site 13. Level, picnic table under a shade structure. Clean water, 30A hookups. Pit toilet, no running water or shower. Prickers from the grass stuck to our shoes and tracked into the rig. OUCH! Not as close to the lake as appears on the map. Neighborhood close but nice separation with swampy land between. Wouldn’t return. The prickers did me in!

We stayed here for one night as we were passing through the area. The campground is spread out, and there are over 100 spots. When you first approach, the best and easiest spots are off to the left in the Yucca area - a bunch of huge pull through spots with covered picnic tables.
We ended up in the Zia loop just as you come in to the campground off to the right. It was fine for a night, but the sites didn't feel as developed there, and more out in the open to the surrounding neighborhoods.
Not much cellular connectivity, and we couldn't get the park WiFi to work. But, for a night - it was a fine stop.

This particular campground at Ute Lake SP is adjacent to a neighborhood. It felt kind of like a private campground in a town. Some highway noise, otherwise very quiet. Easy pull-thru site, no shade which was fine in early October. Just beware if you're walking your doggie, there are stickers all through the grass. I'd stay again, but just for overnight.

Picked this spot as it was sortof on my route back home; it's 20ish miles from the highway, so a little bit of a detour. Almost no one was at the campground, no hosts or rangers. I made my reservation through ReserveAmerica.com.
Sites are pretty good, very flat, a bit open.
I was running low on water so was going to fill, before connecting my hose I opened spigot and BROWN water came out. I let it run for a couple of minutes, tested it with clear glass and decided I wasn't going to put that water in my tank.
Other than that it was "ok"; they had toilets, which I didn't use, so not sure if there was a bathhouse.
