“gravesite of "the colorado cannibal"”
Known as the "The Colorado Cannibal." His name is often misspelled as "Alferd," an error that stems from his own illiteracy. His victims were Frank "Butcher" Miller, Israel Swann, James Humphreys, George Noon, and Shannon Wilson Bell. Packer died in Deer Creek, in Jefferson County, Colorado, reputedly of "Senility - trouble & worry" at the age of 65. Packer is widely rumored to have become a vegetarian before his death. He was buried in Littleton, Colorado. His grave is marked with a veteran's tombstone listing his original regiment in 1862.
The grave is right by the gate where Prince St intersects with Parkhill Ave - this gate was not open when I went but it is relatively easy to find.
Visited today, a memorial plaque was added this past June. Really interesting site as Cannibal "the musical" is one of my favorite movies.
Fairly easy to find, right by the gate. A must if you've ever seen Cannibal, the musical.
