Site 30 was the best site. It was the only one with a little view of the lake. It was pretty empty as we checked in on Sunday night in May. Showers were not amazing but clean. The overall campground was very clean.

We used to go to Lake Jacomo as kids but haven't camped here in many, many years. We had a family member in the hospital nearby so it was convenient. Full hookups in a wooded area above the lake. There are two spots with lake views but we opened up to woods. Quiet, gated, and clean. We didn't use the facilities. Our rate was $2 off for seniors. Campground only open April thru the end of October.

This was a lovely wooded campground, with full hookups, pull-thrus and nice clean bathrooms. Limited showers and stalls, but plenty for the number of folks that were there. Clean electric, nice sewer connection, signs said water pressure was 95psi. Good view of the lake from a couple sites, but ours opened onto the woods. Camp hosts were a lovely couple we chatted with for quite awhile on Saturday morning. Would have stayed another night but our furnace wasn't working and it was just too cold on that opening weekend.

There so few choices for full-hookups close to Kansas City, that we were very happy to find this campground in Fleming Park. Pull-through sites, with ample power and tons of water pressure, though our site presented a slight leveling challenge. Fifteen miles to the Truman Sports Complex for Royals or Chiefs games, and another five or six to downtown KC.
The campground is gated, and hosts are always on site near the gate. Fleming park is largem with a huge lake, boating, fishing, hiking trails, and more. An enjoyable camping experience close to the city.

Jacomo Campground is in a great location for accessing Kansas City. The campground was lush during our stay, sites are nicely spaced and some are paved pull-thru's with full-hookups.
Our experience wasn't as quiet as the other reviewers. Site #28 is close to a power station or pump that was running most of the time and was audible inside our rig.
About 1/3 of the sites in the campground are full-hookup, 1/3 are 30amp electric only and 1/3 no-hook-up dry sites. There is an easy access dump station and potable water fill right at the campground entrance/exit.
Cell service fluctuated throughout the week. At times Verizon download was less than 1 Mbps boosted. Below are un-boosted stats on a Saturday morning:
VERIZON - DOWNLOAD: 4.05 Mbps, UPLOAD: 1.23
AT&T - DOWNLOAD: 6.61 Mbps, UPLOAD: 3.00

Spacious enough site with electric, a picnic table, and a fire ring. The playground is right across the little road and the restroom is a very short walk. This was our shakedown trip at the closest campground and I’m sure we will stay again.

Checked in with the host who gave us the gate code and the rundown. Pulled into our spot which had plenty of buffer between neighboring spots. Nice bathrooms. We explored a couple trails in the area. I think another review talked about the lake view, but it was too woody to really have a lake view for most of the campground, and I expect it would be obstructed if you could see the lake. A little expensive for a public campground, maybe, but it would be a bargain if it were private.

This is a lovely campground and I wish we could have stayed longer. Nice showers and bathrooms. Nice hikes available from campground. We were able to get an electric only site which was perfect for us but full hookups are available. Large trees for nice shade. Playground looked nice and a covered pavilion with picnic tables would be nice if it was raining. Barking dogs was my only complaint.

Very nice campground. Has hot showers and clean bathrooms, deer is abundant. The campground can accommodate everything from a basic tent to a 40' motorhome. Very quiet and relaxing.
