Grave of the Unknown Prospector

September 13rd, 2019: RVer report confirms reports from Mar 2015 and July 2017, & info provided by CalTrans. Overnight RV Parking is allowed. State of California allows parking in Rest Areas for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24 hour period unless there is signage to the contrary. No such signage found here. Small off-road turnout has one entrance from US 305 & one entrance from SR 120. Room for 1 - 3 RVs at most. Park parallel to edge of gravel driveway, without obstructing movement by other vehicles. Level, unlighted, appears safe. Traffic & truck noise from US 395. Grave of the Unknown Prospector is a historical marker, not an actual gravesite.
