When you arrive (use the gps coordinates don't enter from the airport parking lot) you will travel a short distance down a well maintained FS road to a very large gravel and dirt parking area. You can park in this parking lot if you choose, lots of space, good solar and great internet speeds. You will see to the right of the information sign you will see a small wooden sign with a snowmobile on it. That is the road that you can take back to the airstrip portion of the site. You will only travel about 100 yards on that road before it opens up to a very large grass field (and airstrip) you will need to turn left to head toward the camping locations. To the right will be the landing strip so you need to avoid that area. There is a dirt/sandy road leading back to 2-3 sites with fire rings but also a very large open field where you can camp as well. Internet speeds and solar are great near the airstrip section as well.
This is a great site for rigs of all sizes. We had two friends who got heir 40ft 5th wheel back to the airstip area but just take it slow.
About 5 miles away you can find a free dumpsite with potable water.

We found free camping at the Lake Wenatchee Airstrip Dispersed Camping Area within the Wenatchee National Forest in Washington State. In this video, I provide you a tour of the Wenatchee Airstrip Dispersed Camping Area. In addition, we meet up with Kyle and Michelle Shore of Wandering Shores at this free camping area where they were boondocking in their Outback travel trailer. There is a dirt/gravel lot that looks legal to park/camp in right off the main road. However, the sites near the airport might not allow vehicles anymore. The snowmobile sign on the dirt road going towards the runway says “maintained snowmobile route no wheeled vehicles”.
It appears you’re supposed to park in the dirt lot then walk to the sites for tent camping only just southwest of the runway. However, the road is clearly still used by wheeled vehicles and is in good condition. No 4x4 needed.
On the other end of the airport there’s all sorts of “no overnight camping” signs and “club members only” signs. Make sure you stay on state park property which is marked by signs.
The bugs are also horrendous although this is probably seasonal. I was here in late May. I went to the North Campground as an alternative but the bugs were just as bad so I came back here since it’s free and I don’t need hookups.
Only one other RV in the dirt lot. Airport looked deserted. No planes and the office appeared closed. Runway was overgrown and not mowed. I did see a few bikers, hikers, and an ATV come through. There’s a trail that comes right by the airport.
Beautiful area though and full Verizon signal. If it wasn’t for the bugs and questionable legality I would have rated this a 5 star boondocking spot.

The spot was great for my husband and me (we have a trailer). Other family members did not like it so much. And still other members of our group moved over to the North Campground, which is only 5 minutes away. If you want perfectly clean, then this is probably not the place; it was very dusty and we all got very dirty.
Additionally, there were so many ground wasps a screened eating area was necessary after my husband got bitten on the lip. There were a lot of mosquitos too. Such is life... bring wasp traps and mosquito repellant.
It is worth it to my hubby and I to not be right next to other people.
I appreciated that the sheriff's department came by twice to make sure that no one was having a fire (prohibited while we were there) and had some goodies for the kids.
We did hear and see airplanes landing during the day a few times, but not at night.
