“Like the Alps! Sort of....”
Remember when you were little, and you were enthralled with snow globes? A trip to Leavenworth is about as close to the real thing as you're going to get. Nestled on the Eastern cusp of the Cascades, the Bavarian Village transforms when the snow flies, turning itself into the ultimate holiday town. Hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights, carolers, cocoa, kids sledding, the horse-drawn carriage...it is enough to put any snow globe to shame. Want to make some memories with the family? Treat yourself to a winter experience in this great Northwest getaway you will never forget! Whether you’re into spas, geocaching, outdoor theater, wine tours, or interesting museums, Leavenworth has what you’re looking for. If your definition of rugged footwear involves heels longer than three inches, peruse our sumptuous spas, world-class wineries, and fragrant farmers’ markets.
Most of Leavenworth is a cheesy tourist trap, so check Yelp on where to go and where to eat. It's definitely not a weekend destination unless there is an event going on, but it's a good stop on your way to a one (Chelan, etc). It's a great place to grab lunch, do some local wine tasting, have a beer at Icicle Brewing, and grab a bratwurst. Oktoberfest here is often fun as well as the lights in winter.
Leavenworth is our favorite place to visit. When we drive into town it feels like we've just come back home.
