This nationally significant collection features objects, photographs, and documents relating to the 1st US Volunteer Cavalry Regiment and Theodore Roosevelt. The collection includes material from the Cuban Campaign of the 1898 Spanish-American War as well as the reunions of Roosevelt’s Rough Riders Association through 1972. The objects in this accession were assembled by members of the Association and entrusted to Ozella Todhunter prior to the founding of the City Museum. In 1961, the Association transferred ownership of the entire collection to the City of Las Vegas to be held by the city as a public memorial.
