If you go against the grain, you will stumble on a very nicely graded gravel road that will bring you about a mile the opposite direction than the crowds. At the end of this road is a large gravel pit area that will easily hold a dozen RVs. For more adventurous campers, a two-track road will lead you into the trees above the gravel pit with numerous fire pits and camp sites. All have a nice view of the city of Larmie, WY just a few miles away.
Tons of Verizon LTE
Only down fall is that you will hear the Interstate from here.

AT&T great. Verizon not great but ok. This area was clean with fantastic views of Laramie which is a super awesome little town with great vibes and restaurants. Unfortunately it was extremely windy while we stayed here but that didn't stop us from just walking through the fields. It was really easy to acess and we arrived almost at dark. It took some time to find a level spot so we didn't unhitch until the morning. This was a great spot. I would recommend it.

We drove right to the end of the road (as per the map). We arrived around around 6PM and there were 4 other RVs here already. Found a level spot overlooking Larmie. The road in was dirt, had a few decent hills on it, but nothing a 2wd car/truck/rv couldn't handle. Man, is it ever windy up here! Beautiful views!

High elevation with a spectacular view of Laramie. Packed dirt/gravel road that was fine for my 43' Class A Motorhome. Some areas are washed out, but the road was wide enough to make it though.
This was our first boondocking experience and this location was great!

Road in was just over 1mi. A bit bumpy but no worries. One deep rut near the campsite, just go slow. Site fairly level and easy access. Seems we camped next to a pet graveyard. Not much wind on this stay. Good view of Laramie. Gunfire just a bit up the road but not a concern. One camper came in next to us after dark and saw just one other on the way in. Good place for an overnight stay.

Great location! Amazing expansive views of Laramie! Check the weather though! Temperature dipped to 29 degrees on June 9 and was windy!
Dogs had lots of room to play too!

After searching everywhere around Vedauwoo and Happy Jack for a camping spot on Labor Day weekend we finally gave up. We were about to head out when we decided to check this road. There’s not a lot of spots but the views of Laramie and Snowy Range are incredible, and it’s much quieter than the other areas on a busy weekend. Temps were pleasant in the 40s at night, great for a site around 9000 ft, and high 70s in the day. Cell service was strong with AT&T and Verizon. The only downside was the extreme wind that started by late morning.

We were heading here but found out the road is closed. There is no indication of how long but given the order started 2/1 and states until notice lifted it may be a long time.

Road is open. However the bridge over I80 is one lane and the lane is very narrow. Width isn’t posted but feels like about 8-9 ft as I drove my Ram truck over it.
Larger rigs should plan to take the exit ramp on eastbound I80. If coming from the east get off at the Vedauwoo Glenn Rd exit, turn south across the bridge and then west on Old US 30.

The road in is in good shape. Drive Slow...less impact on the dirt road. It's a pretty place even at night overlooking the lights of Laramie, WY. Not anything against this place but people need to slow down on dirt roads so you don't tear them up. Too many people were driving 30+ MPH throwing dirt and rocks everywhere. I had four bars of 5G T-Mobile. Was good speed but sometimes would drop off to next to nothing for speed even with a great signal. This place is about one mile off of I-80 and a rest stop so maybe that has something to do with it.
