“nestled in a dense grove of aspen”
The campground is comprised 17 campsites in a single tear-drop loop. Some sites are nestled in a dense grove of aspen, fir and spruce, others are in a grassy meadow. The interior road is narrow and rough in places. The campground is convenient to a network of challenging mountain bike trails. There are nearby corrals. Tie City was named for the railroad men who cut the ties for the Union Pacific Railroad from this forest.

Just off interstate where Lincoln bust is located and before Curt Gowdy State Park. Secluded yet close to Laramie. Road very rutted although traversed with 30ft motorhome pulling a toad ( should have unhooked the car) Stayed in June. Mosquitoes eliminated any outside relaxing. Would try another time.

I wish I had longer to stay than just one night. It says "small trailers only" but I found a site that was set back from the road where there was enough room to parallel park our 36' travel trailer and truck in front. For us it was just a place to spend the night, but it was a beautiful facility.

Stayed 9/18/18. Limited spots. Great location for being right off the interstate. The road in was dirt. Even though we only stayed one night we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Some spots a little rough but manageable by any vehicle and with effort to level up camper or MH. Just off I-80 E. of Laramie. Mtn. biking trails, fire rings, picnic tables and sites are for the most part, private. This would be an excellentb3 night stay spot if you want to explore Laramie, Cheyenne, and the mountain sitting. Curt Gowdy SP is about 30 min away and is a fantastic fishing and hiking locale.

This was great site in a beautifully forested area close to I-80 without any road noise. It is near the Lincoln monument. Only a handful of sites were taken at 6 pm on a Wednesday night (5/31/2023). At this time of year they were not taking reservations and sites are available first come, first served. The sites were spacious and spread out with gravel pad and lots of trees and bushes. The road was a well maintained gravel road suitable for all but the largest rigs due to the trees lining the roadway. No hook-ups, but has pit toilets. I would have liked to stay longer but we were on a road trip and only staying for the night.
