“home to Amur Tigers & Red Pandas”
Potter Park Zoo is home to over 160 species of animals, many of which are threatened or endangered, including Amur Tigers, Red Pandas, Bali Mynah Birds, Snow Leopards, Tamarin Monkeys, Bongos and more.
As a fully accredited AZA member, Potter Park Zoo is committed to making significant contributions to mid-Michigan through conservation education that encourages responsible stewardship of the habitats supporting wildlife. The Big Zoo Lesson and the Zookambi summer camp are just two of the many educational opportunities available to visitors. Through these programs, we provide visitors and participants with entertaining, engaging and educational experiences.
One of our favorite zoos in Michigan. You could pack a lunch and make a day out of it. You pay for parking and outside the zoo is a large play area and picnic areas. The zoo itself is perfect for smaller kids and the nice thing is that the animals can be viewed while they are inside or outside. We've gone in the summer and early spring and preferred the spring. They have discounted tickets early in the season too. We had the whole place to ourselves and spent a long time looking at the big cats inside their building.
Horrible and small with high admission AND parking. Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek is worth the extra drive.
