Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on September 30, 2023My wife and I loved this place. On this trip, we've stayed at a total of 3 sites on the Great Lakes and this was our favorite of the three.
Normally, I'd reserve 5 stars for the rarely found large site with full hook-ups (as opposed to sardine-style packing) but this place has such a nice view of the lake, and relatively easy access to the lake (short walk down a hill and across a road), that I feel like anything less than five stars would be unfair.
The grounds are well-maintained and the RV sites have electric only. Our site, 12, seemed to have an issue with at the power source. My surge suppressor reported reversed polarity. When plugged in elsewhere to test, it reported normal connections. The manager told me he'd have someone look at it on the day we left. (I didn't need it looked at urgently because we were able to run a long extension cord to an unoccupied site to get 20 amps, which was all we needed.)
Reading my own review, it seems like it should not get 5 stars, but the location was so beautiful, and the well-mowed grounds so spacious, that I'm sticking with 5.
The place was a bit hard to find, by the way. Google Maps will get you close and, once on Skanee Rd (I think), look for the medium-sized sign. There's another entrance to the park that is nothing more than a circular area that I was barely able to get out of gracefully towing a 28' trailer. Don't go there. :)

This was a beautiful campground with a friendly host. There was potable water. Our site was large, level and accessible. It was quiet and beautiful! Very buggy. We were able to explore the area and see amazing sunsets! Excellent cell service with Verizon.

Host was great. I registered for 16 and he called to ask if I wanted 27, which set off by itself at the top of a hill with a view of the lake!

Nice little park that connects to a bunch of trails in the park. View of Lake Superior. Shower house was undergoing an addition. Great to see the sunset from your site over the bay. Our site had a decent drop off at the back

I arrived and very quickly found the site. Outstanding site with a bit of privacy and very close to restrooms for site 27- but need small trailer here..
Note- sites 6-13 have awesome views out back end of site of Lake Superior that will bring great memories of sunsets for years to come. These sites are huge and I saw 38 ft fifth wheel easily get in here.
My Verizon LTE was at two bars, but what was incredible was the high quality WIFI!
Sunsets here are incredible- if you luck out you may get to see northern lights also.
Playgrounds are awesome for families with small kids. Beautiful falls to hike to within minutes drive of the campground with Silver Falls, quartzite falls, and canon falls. Many more to find in upcoming days- all easy hikes from parking.only canyon falls had people there when we visited- other falls we had all to ourselves even on late June weekend trips.
Water is hard to get in campground so be sure to fill up at disposal station where they have drinking water separated from sanitary water supply. We have a small pop up
Restroom is fantastic with brand new showers. Really love this place.

We only stayed here for one night traveling on our way though Michigan, It was a nice place over looking lake Superior on a hill, we would have stayed longer, Most of the sites are not that big, But you can fit a 30' in some,
The sites have Electric, They have water by the dump station.. Open grassy site, 5- 10
Looked level, site 4 was good, but in the corner, would need extra electrical cord,

VERY nice campground. The showers and bathrooms were spotless.
We were overnighting on our way to Ontonagon from Munising. This was the perfect place to stop for an overnight stay.
While there we drove to Point Abbaye. It is a long drive up a dirt road but absolutely worth it. You owe it to yourself to see this seldom used trail.

Nice hidden gem park. We were able to get a last minute site for the last weekend in July when there wasn't anything else available!. Roomy sites - sites 4-12 have great views of the bay. Good Wifi - I have 3 bars LTE with T-mobile, 5 bars 5G with ATT with our WeBoost. I would definitely return.
