Confirmed by 5 users | Last reported on December 20, 2023We were headed east from Carlsbad Caverns to Ft. Worth, and found this free (with hook ups!) city park campground to be very convenient, on the way, right off 180. There were a few other campers there...they shared that some of the electric hook ups did not work (trial and error) but pointed out one that did. We just used the water however, and kept our spot on the end, as the site looked to be more level. Overall very good for a one night stay. We ate at the chain steakhouse in town - the chicken fried steak was indeed delicious!
Definite noise from the adjacent busy road but nothing out of the ordinary. I'm sorry I don't recall exactly what AT&T service we had, but it was probably 3 or 4 bars....

It's free, so that's the reason to stay.
The local park is pleasant enough during the day. Restrooms are locked at night.
We moved away from the RV area as it was crowded and we didn't need hook-ups. We just parked near a grassy area with a picnic table. Nobody bothered us, but there was lots of activity during the night with vehicles coming and going. We felt safe, but seemed like suspicious activity. Didn't get much sleep.

When we arrived, there was nobody else there. First thing we noticed was that the sites are quite sloped. We chose what appeared to be the most level one. It still took extra blocks under the front jacks to get close to level. We were excited to see a Peregrine falcon land right over us.
There is a disc golf course in the park that looked like fun.
It is noisy being right on a main road.
30 amp power and no breakers at the site.
The park was clean and felt completely safe.
Much better than a parking lot, but not ideal for larger rigs.

This is a city park, and they have some electric and water provided sites (about 6). Came in and the sign says: "Welcome Campers" ... and its free!
Electricity was good quality according to the measuring tool used. I did not use the water but it was there. One site the power was not working, so I moved.
The GPS on Campendium is off, it takes you to North 5th Street, but the real park is at South Bryan and South 9th streets. Not hard to find as the streets are numbered in order.

Who can really argue much about free! We were on our to Texas and found this. We were the only ones there to begin, one other came later.
The spots are a bit sloped in the front and the dump station would take a bit to use as there is a barrier around it.

We were so surprised to find partial hookups (water and electricity) for free! It was a great stop over spot for a night. There’s a dump station on site as well. It wasn’t the easiest to use, but it’s free.
There were a lot of cars driving by during the day but hardly any at night so we slept soundly.
There are trash cans on site as well.
Our dogs thoroughly enjoyed the park and chasing the birds and squirrels :)

We stopped here overnight and ended up staying half the following day due to the amenities. Playground directly across the street, water (which leaked :-/), power for the AC, and lots of beautiful old trees. The park was littered with garbage but the kids and I cleaned it up to leave it better for the next group. Definitely recommend.

So like others have said, mainly a parking lot, but has 30 amp and water (and looks like there is one space with 50 amp). There's also a dump station. Before you get all settled, check to make sure the electricity works as not all of them do. There is a playground across the street and disc frisbee course as well. You can stay a total of four nights for free and after that it's $20 a night.

Clean, check electricity at site before setting up, a few didn't work. Large park in town, pleasant. Bathrooms down the way, they were open and clean. Water hookup and a dump station (we didn't use it)
Perfect for an overnight. A bit of traffic noise.

Located right off of a city street, so some traffic during the day, at night the occasional car with loud “music “ speeding by. Looked like about 1/2 of the 30 amp outlets were not working, no 20 or 50 amp service. We finally got a working one so be sure to test for electricity before unhooking. Ate at “the lost Texan “, good chicken fried steak. Library had used books 10 for a $1.00.
