“Cartman's favorite place in the world!”
We are a Mexican restaurant and family entertainment destination located in Denver, Colorado. One of the nation's top ten roadside attractions, Casa Bonita has been delighting audiences for over 30 years. With seating for almost 1,000 guests, Casa Bonita is the perfect place to hold a group event, birthday party, field trip or fundraiser. Treat guests to an authentic Mexican fiesta and enjoy our live shows, cliff divers, arcade games and gift shop.
Casa Bonita is EXACTLY like it is portrayed in South Park -- 30 foot waterfall, cliff divers, multiple arcades, magic shows, pirate shows, a 500 lb Gorilla, black bart's cave, puppet shows, pinata breakings, along with other things I am sure I am forgetting. And the sopapillas are delicious (and free!). Highly recommend.
It is a sight to see. I would defn' suggest going once. The sopapillas are pretty good but the rest is, well imagine mexican food from a gas station that went down in a ship wreck and was then recovered a year later, lightly toweled off and microwaved. If you want to recreate the meal experience at home just draw some food on an old cardboard box then leave it out in the rain for awhile and warm it up.
This ultra world-famous (thanks Cartman!) place is super cheesy and kitsch beyond belief. If you like that kind of thing (like me), you will freakin' love Casa Bonita! - The food is pretty bad, but that's not why you come here!
I had visited Casa Bonita for my 12th birthday when it first opened and was delighted. A giant waterfall with divers, an old hideout to explore. This time I took my youngest son to enjoy all the wonders I remembered as a child, but soon realized those memories were just that-memories. The line to get in took about 45 minutes. It was hot and people were becoming irritated. You slowly move through a long winding hall to the cashier. When we came to the payment area, we ordered the "all you can eat" menu and waited in line another 20 min. to get our food. Once we had the trays of food, we were guided upstairs (while we tried to not drop our trays and drinks) into a small area in a corner where we could see nothing.
When the divers did come out, it was a group of teens doing a skit-not the divers they used to have preform. We couldn't hear them at all and instead of diving, they actors fell off the platform into the pool below. Not real entertaining at all. My son was disappointed.
The atmosphere is still truly wonderful but not for the price. The food was nothing to write home about either. My 9 year old son did take advantage of the game room. I purchased tokens and he enjoyed himself for over an hour. The game room was overcrowded and extremely hot, but the kids didn't seem to mind.
I can't say I would recommend going again. But if you decide to "check the box" and go, be prepared to wait a long time and don't expect much in the way of entertainment.
Honestly I would give the food a 1 or less but the kids loved every thing else and would have given that a 5 so I split the difference and gave it a 3. The food was so bad. Pre-made and sitting under a warmer waiting for someone. Weird cafeteria line to go thru to get the food then have to walk with it to your table. Free sopapillas were good but thats about it. Shows were really cheesy but the kids got a kick out of them. Game area was crap--ALOT of broken games but again made the kids happy. Overall not somewhere I would hurry back to but a good one time stop to cross of the list of places we've been.
WE LOVE IT- so much fun even as an adult I still love it. The food is good in its own horrible way, there are cliff divers and puppet shows and gun fights!
We got just what we expected, and more! Remember to eat before you get there, because the food is some of the worst I've had (except the dessert, which was good!). We wanted some really tacky souvenirs from the gift shop, but they were disappointingly ordinary.
I really think this is worth visiting just once. And probably only once. The atmosphere is legendary, the food is not.
Awesome please to bring your kids!!!
after a lot of talk, we were super disappointed in the entertainment. it was slow, lots of yelling and sloppy jumps off some cliffs. it felt more obnoxious than funny.
