The Vee Lake Trailhead overlooks Hart Mountain (National Wildlife Refuge) and features ponderosa pine and aspen stands, on the edge of the High Desert. The trailhead accesses the northern segment of the Fremont National Recreation Trail and its accommodations include an outhouse and boat launch. The area offers several activities such as bird watching, wildlife viewing, photography (scenic overlook), fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking. Directions from Lakeview: Travel north on Highway 395 3 miles past the Lakeview Ranger Station and turn right on Highway 140. Take Highway 140 east for 8 miles, then turn left on Forest Road 3615. Go on Forest Road 3615 for 14 miles and then turn right onto Forest Road 3616. Follow Forest Road 3616 for 5 miles and you should see the lake.
