Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on April 03, 2023This is a large RV park with multiple levels, so the spots seem a lot more isolated than they are. The staff is friendly, the wi-fi is excellent if you pay the small extra fee. The free wi-fi is usable but slow.
The park has lots of large trees, so most spots are in the shade for much of the day. Most of the park is permanent residents, who are extremely friendly. The pool is large and well-cared for.
The park is convenient to much of San Diego, it seems like it was only about 20 minutes no matter where we wanted to go, yet it felt like we were out in the country.
This will be one of our go-to parks for visits to this area.

We stayed at Rancho Los Coches for 3 nights and 4 days, Friday-Monday. This campground was quiet and our campsite was mostly level. There was a concrete pad/patio and a picnic table as well as full hookups. They provided an information packet that included a warning about ants in the campground, so we were careful not to leave any food that might attract them. We did not end up having any problems with ants or insects of any kind.
All of the facilities were clean and well kept. The staff were very friendly and seemed happy to be working there.
There are quite a few permanent residents, and their campsites were a little cluttered, but mostly with plants and decorations, not a lot of junk like some other places have.
Wifi was usable for basic internet browsing and social media. We used the free wifi, but they have an upgraded wifi package for a few dollars a day.
We were gettting 2 bars LTE on Verizon at our campsite, but the higher elevation of some of the other campsites may have better reception.

This park is truly an oasis in the middle of the San Diego urban sprawl. They call themselves the area's best-kept secret, and it's not an exaggeration. It is tucked away from the city behind trees and beside a stream and hills. It is peaceful, but you have access to all the benefits of the city. Super close to everything San Diego has to offer. This park is VERY well cared for. Maintenance staff are friendly and actively tending to the park daily. The team managing the park office are remarkably friendly, flexible, and communicative. I've been to many campgrounds and rv parks across the country, and have met some lovely campground managers, but the folks at Rancho Los Coches set a new standard. I never felt so welcomed and looked after as I did by the folks at this park. I had very strong Verizon and AT&T service for working remotely on Zoom daily. I was here with multiple rigs (26ft class c and a 16ft travel trailer with a Jeep Cherokee), and had a chance to try spots 8, 9, and 60 which were all pretty level with full hookups. 8/9 are centrally located in the park, so I had easy access to everything, but didn't feel like I was disturbed by lots of park "traffic". I was able to receive packages directly to my site from Amazon, FedEx, and UPS. Great laundry facilities with tons of machines. A nice pool. And lots of little outdoor areas for taking a stroll or picnicking by the stream. Can't wait to come back here, this park is a godsend.
