Sharks Tooth Golf Club

Opened in 2002; Shark’s Tooth is a stern test of golf; a 7;000-plus yard track that has hosted numerous U.S. Open qualifiers and is regularly ranked among the best in state by Golfweek; Golf Digest and GOLF Magazine. The setting is pristine; as the course bobs and weaves through wetlands and thick strands of coastal trees along the shores of Lake Powell just a stone’s throw from the Gulf. The front-nine eases players into the round with a series of relatively flat; what-you-see-is-what –you-get golf holes. Until the par-3 fifth; that is. One of the more demanding one-shotters in the region; it requires a 180-yard carry over wetlands to a massive; back-to-front sloping green. The back-nine takes on a decidedly different feel; featuring more undulating terrain; elevation changes and a fistful of holes stretched out along Lake Powell. The 13th; a par 5 that cascades downhill toward the water; starts the stretch. The par-3 16th caps it; with its green complex tucked just inside the lake’s banks. The 18th is a stout par 4 with a bold view of Shark’s Tooth’s 21;000-square-foot clubhouse. Once inside; guests have access to the locker-room grill and facilities; including the member’s bar; card tables and flat screen televisions.
