Easy access but you have to be very care getting on and off highway. Can be very dangerous.
The higher you go the more of Lake Havasu you can see. If you camp too close to the highway it can get pretty noisy.
We loved it there and will definitely go back.

Not sure what the “steps” are, maybe we’ll figure that out before we depart. This place could handle 30 or more and still provide ample elbow room, and we were the only ones here. Really surprising to me, given that the state park about a mile away was packed and overly crowded. We were concerned about a windy-weather advisory which caused us to stay in a protected location. But up on the upper steps there are some really nice views of upper lake Havasu and parts of Parker Dam, which would be great to wake up to. There is a bit of highway noise, but wayyyy more privacy than Catfish Cove could ever provide. We loved this place and would definitely return. We are in a Jeep JL with a RTT, so access was not a concern. I don’t think it would be much of a challenge to get a smaller travel trailer up here, and truck and camper combos would be a breeze. April says the bugs are bad. Terry say the DEET made the bugs tolerable...
Regarding cleanliness people tend to treat everything like gun range land fill. But we found a pretty nice clean spot

One of our favorite places. Great access to sxs/Jeep trails. Nice view.
Love our stay here! Pretty quiet, few OHVs but we are one of them so don’t mind. Nice hike to the lake, fun hunting for geodes and quartz and pretty sunsets. Roads are easy to get in and out. Big rig friendly. Not crowded and ample room. Short drive to town to necessities.

We came late and in the dark. Grabbed a spot. The next morning we moved up higher. Great view of the lake.
Some campers had their American flags flying. When we set up our spot I put out our Canadian wind sock / flag.
We headed to mountain bike and realized we could park a lot closer to trails. Decided to move trailer closer to Lake Havasu.
We were gone less than half an hour and apparently some American has an inferiority complex as our Canadian wind sock / flag was gone.

Not a bad place when its not packed. Stay to the right a LOT OF WAS OUT ON LEFT. Found an ok spot didnt feel 100 % so we moved down the road. A lot of spots on the steps but very rough a lit of large rocks. There was a work crew there when we were there repairing the banks from most recient rains.

No Hosts. No site numbers. Pull up and park where ever you choose! Haul out your garbage. Pyrotechnics event in Havasu City accompanied with great weather made for a happenin place! Brought our own fire pit. New experience for us! No worries about our barking dogs or our loud toddlers that don’t sleep!

Great location, good cell service. Can get crowded around the fireworks weekend.
Access off the highway is just a bit challenging given 65 mph speed limit and turn in to the dirt. Did see several accidents as a result during our stay.

We stayed here for 9 days. There were about 15 RV's but the area is big so we still had plenty of room between campers. I assume it is called the Steps because there are several large gravel levels going up the hill. Each "step" is flat and wide and perfect for parking the RV. The roads get rougher as you work your way up the hill but the views keep getting better too. There are some great ATV trails and we saw a few ATV's each day but not disrupting to the quiet camping.
We had great cell service with AT&T. Speeds as high as 76Mbps download. Best cell reception I've seen in many places. T-Mobile had no coverage at all.
Yes, there is no turn lane off the highway so you do need to be careful. Just give people behind you lots of time with a turn signal and you should be fine.

It was a nice place to stay, but not too impressive. It had a little less privacy that we would have hoped for. It’s also all mostly man-made which bores us. If you can make it to the top, there are really nice sites, but most rigs can’t.
We’ll stay again if we’re passing through and need to settle for a night.
