Not much else other than solitude, a big view, and some great wildflowers. I got 4 bars of 1X Verizon, so I suspect with a booster it will do better.
There is more camping a few miles further up the road as you enter National Forest, but I would advise smaller rigs only.

What a beautiful place to camp. There’s large open spaces with great views of the mountains.
The access road was a little bumpy but it’s worth the trip. We were here in early May.

We never went the complete 1.9 miles. About a half mile in on the dirt road we found a grassy flat spot for our 24’ Jayco Melbourne. The dirt road was quite smooth and no problem for us. We sat in our chairs and gazed south at the snow covered Rockies out side of Denver. The only sound was the breeze gently passing through the sagebrush. A glass of wine is highly recommended while enjoying the views.

No amenities except some pull offs that are large grassy areas with make shift fire pit, but a great place to stop for the evening that is quiet and pretty and easy to get to and flat. There appear to be hunters in the area just FYI.

A few pull offs between US 13 and this spot. If you continue going back toward chimney, there are a lot more spots. I had my 21 ft TT and Ram 1500. Not that bad of a road. There were some hunters out and saw some moose in the distance. Cool spot!

We stayed here Sept 3rd, a LATE Sunday evening.
LOTS OF BROKEN GLASS. Both very small and some large pieces. I would NOT recommend for families with young children who are very adventurous.
We pulled into this spot at about 9-10pm and were desperately needing somewhere to stay for the night. We drove past plenty of taken spots before this one as this spot is really really far in.
It was in the mid 40°'s then and we did not set up camp, we simply car camped. It was a very large space, larger rigs could make this spot feel cozy enough.
The road was curvy all they way to this spot and has some sections where you may have to drive slow or around potholes and late at night there is very active rodents. Cows are present either by their dung or by being nearby grazing.
Definitely more space than we needed but we were grateful for the that and solitude. Very beautiful views as well in the morning.
