Reach the campground by traveling 22 miles northwest from Klamath Falls on Highway 140 then one mile north on Road 3639. The area offers camping, boating, fishing and picnicking. Amenities include an unimproved boat launch. There is no drinking water so please bring your own. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
There are only a few sites, and all are pretty small, but the campground is worth a stay. We squeezed the 27 foot trailer into one spot and enjoyed a peaceful week here all by ourselves in late October. Hunters and boaters dropped in each day, but none were a bother.
There is a boat launch at the bottom of the campground that will lead you into Klamath Lake. From there it is a 4 mile paddle to Rocky Point Resort if the weather is good.
Far enough from the highway that all you hear are the birds.

Stayed a night in early Nov. It was nice and quiet. We had a neighbor our stay and a few people rolled by in the afternoon. Only a few sites.

Pulled in to the CG and found it empty. The 25ft trailer will only fit in the first site, by the toilet. The other sites (4) are small and on a very narrow lane that curves down hill to the water edge. We have a mix of snow and rain while here but got enough sun to keep batteries charged. Walking is fabulous and quiet. Small ranch can be seen from the gravel road which lends to the picturesque surroundings.

One vault type toilet that was NOT clean.
I pulled in in the afternoon of 22 May with expectations of having my choice of campsites.
22 May is Tuesday B4 the Memorial Day WEEKEND. The 6 campsites near the outhouse & boat ramp were already occupied & the people all intended to stay through the Memorial Day weekend.
I parked 1/4 mile up the road that leads to the campground in my 1992 Ford E250 van. I had a Privacy Shelter with me so I set it up & enjoyed a private, hot, shower. No picnic table where I parked so I set my table to cook on.
I looked for 6 nearby geocaches along the road leading to the campground & found just one.
I walked down the road to the campground, walked past all the campsites & took some photos of the view looking at the boat ramp.
This is when I became aware of mosquitos & hastily departed.
Come prepared with lots of Insect Repellant & Campho Phenique to apply where you get bitten.
No rain, just a nice clear sky & a gentle breeze during my stay. I departed on the morning of 23 May 2018
There was what I considered a lot of trash all over the campground. I didn't hear any objectionable noise during my walk through the campground.

we scouted out this campground while in the area for a possible stay but unfortunately this is not a place for our rv 35 class a with a toad, we will go almost anywhere but this site is to small looks like a great place for tent van car and mabe smaller rvs, i could see why everyone posts about the bugs but it is right on the lake with lots of shade

Great little campground but homeless people and steep loop required 4WD. Only a few spots that could fit a small trailer or RV, but fine for tents. View of the river was nice.

Drove through but didn't stay because it was fully occupied. Looks decent enough but, agreeing with the prior reviewer, it does appear some people are living here. The six designated sites are all pretty close to each other. Don't be scared off by the prior reviewer's 4wd comment. You can easily get in and out with any vehicle, save for the loop at the end.

My review will be a bit different, because we didn't camp near the boat launch where the 'established' sites are. Along the road leading to that area, there are several small sites. We managed to squeeze our 34 foot Class A into one of these spots, less than a mile in on the right side. We took our car off of our tow dolly, and removed the dolly before backing in. We had enough room to park our tow dolly and car next to our rig. There was a heat wave (the first day we were here it was 103 degrees, a record high!) and it was noticeably cooler thanks to a lot of shade trees. We were pleasantly surprised that we had a 4-5 bar Verizon signal here, and it was so quiet and cool at night. I will offer one piece of advice, and that is to stock up before coming here. There is only one small store with minimal supplies within 20-30 miles. This was one of my favorite sites in almost a year of boondocking in 5 states. We would absolutely return here!
