Wilson Creek Beach is at the north end of False Klamath Cove near the town of Klamath. Wilson Creek dips under Highway 101 and crosses the beach at the north end. This is a dark gray sandy beach with driftwood scattered about and rocks in the surf. The much larger False Klamath Rock and Wilson Rock are both visible across the cove to the south. Also at the south end of the cove is Lagoon Creek Beach and Picnic Area. A loop trail that begins at the picnic area leads to stunning ocean viewpoints and also to Hidden Beach. Wilson Creek Beach is park of Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park. Look for the Wilson Creek Beach day-use parking lot at the intersection of Redwood Highway 101 and Wilson Creek Road. Behind the beach is an old historic ranch house that was originally owned by the DeMartin Family. They provided shelter for travelers along this remote route back in the 1800’s. For a while this home was used as a youth hostel, but it is currently boarded up.
