Sadly their own rules are not enforced. Holiday long weekend, must be at least 6 cars, trailers, boats crammed into every site versus parking in offsite parking location. No sidewalks, vehicles at high rate of speed. No one picks up after dogs. Very small sites, management says they want to know how to make stay better but refused to deal with broken pipe flooding our campsite which created a slip and fall. Even just to dig a trench to move water back and out of all campsite locations was too much to ask. Lots of long term residents and they are scattered up in the short term area. Could be a nice place if they just stepped back and realized they haven’t updated or thought about how to treat the RV of today. Most sites, all of our neighbors have broken or bad location hook ups, long distance or just not functioning. Trash cans are always full and smell, located at front of small sites and are communal, 3 small cans per 20 sites.

As was mentioned in a previous review, the Rio Vista Resort needs some updating.

But the good first! We enjoyed our stay here! We enjoyed walking by the lake and playing mini golf with our toddler. Our purpose in staying at Rio Vista was to be near Marble Falls to visit Sweet Berry Farm. The farm was only 15 minutes from the resort. The other guests at the Rio Vista were polite and the area was quiet and calm. We could tell that the majority of other campers were there long term, as they seemed very settled in to their sites.

The sites are adequate. Our issues were mainly with the sites, and the general upkeep of the grounds. There were very annoying weeds with sticker burrs all over the resort, and large quantities of them in our site. This made it difficult to have our dogs with us, as they constantly had them stuck in their paw pads. It was impossible to keep them from coming into the RV. Some serious weed control needs to happen, as it would have been vastly preferable to have an all dirt site then have it covered in harmful weeds.
Our picnic table was very warped and rendered unusable.

We found golf clubs and golf balls for the mini golf course, and had fun with that. It was too cold to swim, but the pool and hot tub looked clean. There were people fishing off of the dock the first day and several people sitting in the chairs provided by the lake in the morning.

New picnic tables, weed control/new grass, and general painting could elevate this resort very nicely!

We stayed Here for a week over the 4th of July. We had a 27’ class C. The sites are wide and mostly level. They have 30/50 amp hookups, sewer and water. There are pull through and back in spots. Although we didn’t have problems with the trees, several trailers next to us had to do a little pruning prior to setting up. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The lake is easily accessible, and local rental shops will deliver rented water craft dockside to the resort. The trampoline dock was a hit with my boys. Miniature golf, ping pong, and pool are also available. The pool is nice, 5.5ft and heavily chlorinated due to the heavy use.It was very busy during the weekend, but the staff was great, the guests were great. So for the downside, the facilities are pretty run down. They have three bathrooms, two of which are in real rough shape. The third bathroom is decent enough, but overall we chose combat showers in the rig over. They were cleaned daily, they just need some work. In the end we had a great stay, I would highly recommend staying here for a family vacation, we’ll be back next time we get thru Kingsland.
