“an iconic Rt 66 Motel”
When you are searching for themed hotel rooms among route 66 motels, El Trovatore Motel, is one of the few pre-World War II Kingman Arizona motels that are still standing. When taking a trip on Route 66, motels are among the attractions people want to experience. This historic route 66 motel started in 1937 as a service station, with the tourist court added later in 1939, and was first owned by John F. Miller. This motel with hollywood themed rooms is located on El Trovatore Hill, in Kingman, Arizona, a location on a stony bluff that awards stunning vistas of the Hualapai Mountains and the awe inspiring landscapes that embrace it. The El Trovatore, recently refurbished, easily accommodates groups of fifty or more including Route 66 tour groups. Ample parking space for tour buses is available for people making a route 66 trip and looking to stay overnight in Kingman Arizona motels. In addition to themed hotel rooms, El Trovatore now has a map of route 66 mural that will soon join the list of the worlds largest roadside attractions. Rooms are spacious king or double queen size pillowtop beds. We kept the original architecural charm (art deco style) but added the convienance of microwave, fridge, HVAC, some kitchenettes, Wi-Fi, HBO, laundry and free local calls. We are pet, R.V., trucker and motorcycle friendly. Groups are welcomed.
Reviews
This place is great! I was looking for an inexpensive option and this place exceeded my expectations. The owner and his wife take great pride in their work at renovating this historic hotel. Every room is named after a famous actor/singer. The owner, Sam, takes quite a bit of time when checking in to tell you about the history of the town. Just be prepared for this orientation when arriving -- it will be an enjoyable experience when prepared!
Great little find! Large rooms and lots of character. The owner will share local history and tourism suggestions.
Would Happily Stay Again! Great location! Much needed laundry room and dinette in the room we had. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and it's history. Highly recommend this stay.
This is a fabulous find here in Kingman. The owner and his wife takes so much time in educating you about the town. The place is extremely well maintained, and the office dog Taco is an absolute trip!
The perfect place to stay on Route 66! We wanted a fun, quirky and unique experience and this was it. Love the themed rooms, murals and fantastic stories.
This place is just incredible at night! It's worth staying here just to see the funky lights at night. If you're looking for a classic Route 66 motel in Kingman, you just found it.
This place was disgusting. Health violations in the rooms. Dark stains on the mattress and mattress cover. Insects were throughout the rooms, insecticide was used heavy enough to smell and there was mold in the bathrooms. Human flesh could be seen in the mattress. What looked like someone removing dead skin from there body like a callus or foot blister. They advertise kitchenette and laundry however neither of them were inservice. The owner refused to return our money and threatened to charge me more of a higher prices because I complained about the filth and lack of amenities that he advertised.
Great 1st stop on our Route 66/Grand Canyon trip! The owner checked us in and gave us so much information about the hotel the area and Rout 66!! The room was very roomy! The bed was very soft, but comfortable! The character this place had was one of a kind ! And the neon sign at night was an awesome picture spot!
Super schönes und sauberes Motel mit Themenzimmern. Die Dame beim Einchecken war sehr freundlich und hat uns gleich einiges in der Umgebung empfohlen.
