I was there last July and have to admit that i was so pleasantly surprised by the top quality professionalism and warm hospitality of the staff who did welcome us with the best possible way and made our two day stay there an amazing experience to remember for a long time. At the end of the day we had there everything we could ever need.
I read some negative reviews of people complaining about the poor Wi Fi signal, well may be that is better. You should live moments away from technology and enjoy your vacations rather than being stacked all the time on your smartphones and tablets.
We liked the fact that it is close to the high way, therefore we had an easy access to it and there was plenty of space for our dogs to run and play with our kids!!!
Highly recommended !!!
Buckhorn Lake Resort is truly an outstanding RV destination. The staff is helpful and well informed, the facilities are immaculate and the resort is beautifully landscaped and maintained. We came intending to stay just a couple of months and by the time we departed we'd been there for five!
The park is truly big-rig friendly. There is an adults-only section with it's own swimming pool but of course there is another pool in the family section. Entertainment and activities are offered in "the big red barn." Dinners, parties and live entertainment are exceptional...not your ordinary "RV park fare."
Cable TV, very good wi-fi service, DSL available, mail and package delivery, daily trash pick up at your site...the wonderful folks who own this resort have thought of everything.
As of this writing, we've been traveling the country in our motorhome for almost two years and we have yet to find another RV resort that holds a candle to Buckhorn Lake Resort.

This was a stopover since my usual place, South Illano State Park in Junction, Texas was closed. But this proved to be very nice place. I'm not an expert on RV resorts, but this seemed to have a lot of activities. A large K-9 park near the back and open fields nearby. They also have a private Long Term Class A community that was well maintained. I met several seasonal residents in the Class A park who enjoy it tremendously.

We spent a few days here for some much needed downtime. This is an excellent place to stay. It is close to I-10, but the highway noise was not overwhelming. Most of the time we didn't know it was there. The campground is meticulously maintained. We watched staff one morning cleaning the pools areas, which included deadheading the flowers. That shows they care.
Our site was concrete with a picnic table. We asked for a site with a tree and got one. The protection from the sun was very welcome. Stone was between the sites. Cable TV was good. The pools and spas were very nice. The pool in the general area had a pergola which provided some shade. The pool in the adults only area didn't, but it had upgraded furniture. Laundry room was good. The WiFi was excellent. Verizon signal was good. The farm theme all over the park was very cute. We would (and probably will) stay here again.
Take time to visit LBJ Ranch and the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredricksburg. Both were very much worth the driver into town.

As RV Parks go, Buckhorn Lake is a very nice park. Large paved sites, most trees were trimmed to accommodate big rigs, set in very scenic area. But beware of unresponsive managers / owners.
We've stayed three times, for 5 to 30 nights. It was on leaving our site in October, that we noticed the driver side of our motorhome had been hit by the sprinkler system, leaving 12' of white crusty hard-water spots. I attempted to wax them out immediately, but was unsuccessful. These had built up apparently during the 5 nights of our stay. So, at checkout, I spoke to the office manager about the problem, explaining the sprinkler system had over-watered and sprayed our coach during our stay, leaving water spots on a large area - that wouldn't wax out. After a brief pause, she replied "... well, we have to water the grass", and there was nothing they could or would do to prevent it from re-occcurring. No apology either.
The lack of any remorse or apology was unbelievable. This was a nice RV park where we thought guest satisfaction mattered. Evidently not to the staff. We decided to depart and send an email - which I hoped would go to the Park manager or owners.
After two emails, I received a response indicating they had forwarded my request for a 25% refund ($46.25) to the owners. That was 10 days ago, and I've not seen a response.
OK, it will take a few hours for me to compound, polish and re-wax that section of my Newmar. No long term harm done.
The manager's and owner's indifference about over-sprinkling the hard water on guest motorhomes was unexpected. A very nice park on the surface, but the lack of even a response by the owners is an indicator of their (lack of) concern for their guests satisfaction.

This is a classy upscale resort right off I10. It is convenient for a drive through - which was our intention. Unfortunately we had a breakdown in our toad while running errands in town, so needed to stay longer until the Jeep was fixed.
A call to the resort to ask if they could accommodate us for an additional night or two and the response was they were fully booked. Ok fair enough. But the indifference to our dilemma without even another recommendation or anything was disappointing. I am also doubtful they will fill up on a Sunday night - the park was 1/2 full when we left.
Regardless, the campground is very nice and clean. Long level cement pull throughs. Couldn’t ask for much more.
Beware of the invisible dips in the roadway as you drive around the campground. We didn’t see them and it was like an earthquake on board!

Wow! If I ever have to stop in Texas again it will be Buckhorn Lake Resort. Beautiful sites with level concrete pads and plenty of space between sites. Full hook ups with 30 and 50 amp. Pool and showers with plenty of space to walk our dogs. Great location and close to restaurants just down the main road.

Excellent rv park or I should say resort at rv park daily rate.
I mean this place is the best. Smiling faces everywhere. Friendly staff. Friendly campers. Activities almost daily. Paved roads, concrete pads, clean. Well maintained. They definitely put the money back into the rv park.
They are expanding and adding more rv lots along the side closest to the interstate but it is not that bothersome right now. They are building a storage building between that area and the interstate so it blocks some of the interstate noise which helps some as well. Again, minor issue there.
Still. Well worth a stop here. Also if you do choose this rv park, I mean resort, add a few extra days to enjoy the park amenities and what the town has to offer. Well worth it.
If your planing on staying long term, you need to make your reservation well in advance. They are pretty full.

We couldn't get into any of the state parks, and decided to check this place out. We normally wouldn't book a place like this, but we were pleasantly surprised. Very clean place, the workers are friendly and very helpful if you have questions about the area and attractions/restaurants. It's a great locatiuon for Enchanted Rock, Fredericksburg, and other scenery. While this place is close to the interstate, we didn't notice much noise at all. When we return to Hill Country, I'd definitely consider staying again!
