Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on July 24, 2021Seventeen years ago, we spent the Fourth of July at this park. I correctly remembered it as a quiet, beautiful, urban facility that gave the impression of being out in the country. Our Class A then was smaller than our new midsize fifth wheel. A park of this vintage was not designed for the multiple slide, bigger rigs of today. They asked that our rig not extend over the grass (which is watered regularly) of our back in site. Our F350 crew cab short bed wouldn’t fit so we had to park it opposite the row of sites in front of us. Not a big deal for me, but it might be for some. The new resorts we gravitate towards lack the generous space between sites Brookhaven offers. I’ll gladly walk 30 yards to my tow vehicle to have a site where I can fully extend my awnings. We used the park as a home base to visit Mt. St. Helens & explore the area in general. It won’t be another 17 years before we return.

We each experience campgrounds in different ways. We wanted a nice place to just spend a week and rest from weeks of traveling, this park ended up fitting that criteria nicely. It was comfy, neighborly, and just felt home-like. It is a clean and well-loved park. Has quite a few long-term residents but they take great care of their spaces and are mostly sequestered towards the back of the park. Most of the transient spaces were in the front of the park. Great staff, so helpful, check-in was easy. We're newbies and the Camp Host helped guide us into our back end site. The sites are not very long but there was room in the site itself to park our tow vehicle sideways or some would park on the side by the picnic table. And there is so much space between you and the neighbors and the RV's behind, made it comfortable. Hook ups worked great, were conveniently located. The laundry facility was very clean, the machines worked great. There is a nice walking path along the dike. Close to the freeway and town. The only downside was cell phones did not work, T-Mobile, and so our internet hotspot barely worked, but the park's wifi was decent.

RUDE RUDE people. I called ahead and arrived an hour later. Checked in and got the info. Host made sure to point out wifi password and list of cable stations. Called to office 3 times asking for help as there was no way to connect to cable. Was told maintenance had gone home the first time. Second time was told I just wasn't looking in the right place. Third time I called and asked her to come show me but was told "I don't do that." Gave up and went to bed with a book. Went out early next morning to drive to Mt St Helens but called at 9 to ask if maintenance would check out my problem but Day person said she knew nothing about it. When I came in that afternoon stopped to ask at office if it got fixed as my site was way past. Was told the guy fixed it yesterday. Really? Showed her the picture of what she wouldn't come look at the night before and she suggested I had taken the picypture elsewhere. Finally she agrees to come check for herself and there was now a shiny brand new box and connector. She asked me what my problem was. Really? No pool. No hot tub. No one willing to check out my problem in a timely manner but I have a problem. Other review site had mentioned problems here. Believe me if you want to overpay for a parking space and rude service this is your spot. Long drive through school zone to get to confusing entrance. If you screw up and turn into the mobile home park you're in big trouble finding a way out.

We were needing to stay a couple months for a work assignment. Rude front office. Felt like an inconvenience. Before we even got there we were told we had to do a background check. They wanted to know the pounds of our dog and breed, and the year of our coach. Have you ever heard of such a thing? When we got there we saw the place was a dump. There were a lot of trashy and older rv’s there than ours. After one night we decided to go over to Elks Lodge and put up with no sewer at the site and no 50 amp cuz we didn’t want to stay there.
