Parking lot camping. No hook ups. It is not free it is posted to register at the kiosk. I went into the hotel and payed the $10 per night.
Now the cool thing about this is you are right there for the gondola ride and mountain biking activities or take the dedicated bike path down to Coeur D’ Alene or up to Wallace.
The lodge/ resort has all the amenities to keep you feed, relaxed or entertained. The town has a great mix of shops and eateries too.
This is not boondocking but it isn’t a Walmart parking lot either. Lots of folks enjoying the active lifestyle here so bring the sun screen, a jacket and join in.
It’s a parking lot as previous review but so much nicer than other parking lot options. Great views! It’s literally the ski parking lot for Silver Mountain Resort. The rate is unreal! Across the street you can eat and have a cocktail sitting by the fire!
This review is for RV camping in the parking lot. We called ahead of time to make sure we could camp in our 5th wheel trailer overnight and the resort confirmed you can pay a $10 fee and stay overnight.
They also told us they expected a very quiet weekend, but it turned out to be one of the biggest mountain biking races of the season the next day so we accidentally ended up in a packed party lot. Haha.
Typically it likely isn't that noisy as long as there isn't an event. We parked in the back corner of the lot, paid the $10 in the envelope at the kiosk, and enjoyed a ride up the gondola and a walk around the property on top of the resort.
The parking lot itself was nothing special. Kinda beat up actually with several potholes. So comparing to other parking lots we've stayed at like Walmart or Dick's, it's just another parking lot without the convenience of walking into a store to stock up on groceries. But it is a pretty view of the mountains and quick access to the resort amenities.
the price is now $15/nt. it is a parking lot with no amenities, but the Kellogg dump station with potable water is a block down the road. Very quiet, nice to be close to the CDA bike trail, gondola ride for downhill bike riding, restaurant/bar across the street and Walmart one exit away.
No complaints on the spot. starting to get a bit much when you can park for free at Walmart too, but I wanted a place to stay for several days. for me it was worth it and would stay here again.
Nothing fancy about paying to sleep in a parking lot. BUT my boys (and husband) loved riding in the bike park right next to the parking lot. They still talk about it and say it was their favorite spot we camped. 😂
This place is a gravel parking lot. No hookups. Officially no generators or fires allowed. But proximity to Silver Mountain village & mountain biking trails are second to none. We were here in a weekend and it was very quiet. Parking lot is big enough that we had more privacy than most RV lots.
Definitely a cool place I’d you want to park it and use the trails as entertainment.
Ski resort parking lot
This is a huge gravel parking lot with room for any sized rig
We spent one night here and wanted to go on the gondola ride but it was closed for the season
We did have a cocktail in the resort lodge café
There is a dump station with potable water about a block away that is free
When we arrived there were two other rigs here one who looked like they had been here for a few days because they were having engine trouble. When they finally got started they pulled out but sadly they left a lot of garbage and animal waste behind
Please pick up after yourselves people and don’t ruin it for everyone else!
We had 3 to 4 bars of T-Mobile and Verizon service with our booster
We tried for an overnight stop here however, it was Memorial Day weekend and the parking lot was full. Heads up that this place may have become a parking lot campground as several rigs were unhitched and we even saw some campfires. I'm guessing that it might be busy/loud, over weekends. If it's not busy, the lot is nice and open and would be a good overnight stop.
We just needed a place to stop for the evening. Stopped on Saturday 7/24/2021. Parking lot was almost empty. Nice close access to the restaurants - was live music outdoors that was enjoyable. Wife enjoyed a frozen yogurt and I had a cold beer. Access to nice trails, went for short bike ride. Had to pay in the lodge - staff wasn't the friendliest but maybe they were just having a bad day.
Also close to free dump station which was nice.
I stay here for a span of time each year. Each year the price goes up. Now $25/nt. Nice to use a QR code to pay via phone this year.
As usual this area in general has horrible cellular service. But now that I have Starlink… I can stay so much longer and work.
I always opt to go all the way to end of the gravel lot. Most folks stay on the asphalt that is near the trash and portable toilets.
