“Hawaii's amazing cave”

Everyone knows that Hawaii is one of the most beautiful places in the world. The weather's perfect, the sun's always shining, and island attitude matches its wonderfully warm surroundings perfectly. With amazing day trips like the "open-ceiling cave", can you blame the droves of tourists who visit every year? Hardly. The amazing Kauai Open-Ceiling Sea Cave is hidden along the Napali Coast and was created naturally when the ceiling of a massive structure collapsed in on itself. What remained was an insanely impressive skylight in the cave's roof. The crystal clear water is so blue it's almost unbelievable, and when the sun is shining you can look all the way down to the white sandy cave floor below. The open-ceiling cave is actually a lava tube, and though the cave has no formal name, it's likely it was a very special place where ancient Hawaiians might have come to fish, or to take refuge from the rough ocean waves. Some days, visiting the cave is impossible thanks to the overwhelmingly choppy water, but on a clear day, boats can make their way in through the small opening to an absolutely jaw-dropping, naturally-occurring cathedral. Many people who visit the cave say it's enough to justify an entire vacation to the island. There are several boat and catamaran tours that take guests safely to inside the cathedral, and will also take you to some of the neighboring caves. Locals recommend not trying to reach the caves on your own, instead leaving the hard stuff to the professionals. If you're going to be in Hawaii this summer, you can't leave without visiting this amazing oasis of tranquility. Book a tour and spend an afternoon enjoying some of the best sites Hawaii has to offer. -Roadtrippers blog The amazing “open ceiling cave” is hidden along the Napali Coast and was created naturally when the ceiling of a massive cave collapsed in on itself.
