Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on October 13, 2021We got here a couple days before Labor Day weekend 2015 and it was great. Slightly busy, but relaxing, easy-going, lots of open sites, and I caught a few fish. The campground hosts were very friendly and even offered us some fresh caught trout for dinner. Labor Day weekend brought hoards of people and it got crazy busy. The campground was full, the campground resort across the street was sold out, the parking at the trail head across the street was spilled out onto the road and so on. We found ourselves trying to get away from all the people. All the same, this is a beautiful spot and if you can go midweek during an off time, it can be really nice.
There are no signs or even a map of the campsite numbers when you arrive so it helps to know where you are going before you show up. Reservations are accepted and highly recommended. The roads are narrow and down by the lake they are lined with willows which makes it very tunnel-like. The rest of the camp is wide open. The wind can get very fierce here, so be prepared for that. When it's calm, it is beautiful. There are places to fill your RV tank with water, but there is no dump station.
The nights were cold and it went below freezing a couple times. The days were very warm and shorts weather. Lots of hiking trails nearby, and lots of dirt roads to explore if you have a jeep or similar. We love the geology in the area and there are several obsidian/pumice domes nearby. It's also close to Mono Lake, Mammoth Lakes and June Lake.
Silver Lake Resort across the street has a wonderful little store with all the necessities, and a great, but very small cafe. The breakfast there was to die for.

This is our third year camping at Silver Lake USFS campground. We like to stay at the west end of the campground, away from the lake. The sites are spacious and far apart from others and have incredible mountain views. You can walk to Silver Lake and fish right across the campground road on Rush Creek. The campground is fairly quiet and has deer frequently passing through.
The campground is clean and has flush toilets in several buildings around the grounds. There is also a coin shower facility (closed this year due to COVID).
The Silver Lake Resort across the road has a nice camp store and diner with a great breakfast. They also rent fishing boats.

My family and I camped at silver lake campground in the June lake loop area. Located in California in the eastern sierras. The campground has water hookup but not sewer or electricity for those with RV and travel trailers. They have many type of sites to accommodate trailers, Rv’s and tents. The campground was clean with spectacular views and the fishing was great! They have an awesome cafe/store also and the food is amazing! We will be back soon!

Great views of the surrounding mountains from virtually every campground, some sites are much better than others. The campground is right along the shore of Silver Lake with easy access for fishing and the launch ramp is nearby. This campground attracts a lot of larger RV, but see everything from tent campers on up. The bathrooms are kept clean but the showers were still closed when we stayed there at the end of April '21 due to COVID. The camp hosts are friendly and keep order when things get a bit rowdy. There are threaded water spigots to fill your freshwater tank, so make sure to fill up before you get setteled in. Our Verizon phones worked and thankful to have our Weboost cell booster to help speed up getting data. There is no dump station on site so we went to the Fern Creek Lodge, which is only a couple of miles towards Gull and June Lake, the cost was $10 to dump. We camped in our 21 foot Class B RV.

This is a great campground on the lake. Plenty of space between most spots. A nice little store and cafe across the street. A beautiful hike (a bit steep) up to the waterfall and more lakes…. I will be back.

This camp ground at the North end of Silver Lake is really great. Incredible view of the mountains and waterfalls. Our site wasn’t right on the lake, but we think our view was better because of we weren’t. Less bugs too. Many spots to access the lake. Lots of people fishing. Barry, the camp host is great! Personal attention to everyone and genuinely wants you to have a good time. Would definitely stay here again.

This campground is busy during the summer months. We found the Autumn months best for less crowded sites, quieter, and much more scenic views. Easy to access from 158 June Loop. Campsites are roomy and some have more privacy than others. Fishing here is great. Also don't miss having lunch at Silver Lake Resort!

We enjoyed Silver Lake Campground while attending the June Lake Jam.
Remember, this is dry camping. The host let us fill our water tank at the office site.
Our 31' TT was a little difficult to back into space 52 due to a huge boulder by the road.
We had 360 degree mountain views. Verizon reception was great.
The nightly rate was based upon our America the Beautiful Pass senior discount.
The hostess was seen cleaning the bathrooms/shower daily.

This campground is beautiful and literally right on the lake! The spots are pretty spacious, a handful have some privacy with the bushes around. All spots are paved and pretty level, my only complaint is the road is very narrow at some points which made it tough to back in to our spot. Some of the spots are flooded right now because of the all the snowmelt and high water levels of the lake. Drinking water and dumpsters available but mo dump station.
