Confirmed by 5 users | Last reported on December 04, 2023We arrived around 4pm on Veterans Day. The park is accessed via a frontage road and a minimal amount of noise can be heard from I-10. The park has beautiful mature trees and is tucked in behind a pecan grove. Check in is at the 5th wheel in site 1 (camp host). We overnighted on our way to Fredericksburg and didn’t get a chance to check out the fishing or kayaking. The park wasn’t full and the cold windy weather kept most people inside with the exception of the occasional dog walker. The park internet worked fine for our needs which wasn’t much. I didn’t check out the women’s bathroom but my hubby said the men’s bathroom was old but clean. A major negative is the weak cell service but we really liked this park and would stay here again.

Right off the south llano river in a pecan orchard. Lots of deer and is family friendly. Outside games like volleyball, horseshoes, and cornhole available. The only draw back was it was hot (100+) when we stayed and the pads are strip sealed asphalt. It heats up and sticks to your shoes and you track it inside. Try to request a shady spot if visiting during the summer months. Will stay again!

Stopped here on our trip across Texas. The park is just minutes off Interstate 10. Supermarket, restaurants, laundromat, and fueling stations are about 10 minutes from the campground. Pull through and back in sites. Full hookups with 50 amps. Pecan trees throughout the campground. Bountiful deer wander about. Beautiful and easily accessed fishing spot on the Llano river which is a 5 minute walk from any site. Fresh eggs available and delivered to your site from chickens being raised in an area near the fishing spot. Delicious pecan treats available from the host for a modest price. Very friendly and helpful staff. My only grade below 5 stars if for the location because this campground works very well as a stopover but there really isn't much to do in the area which is not the fault of the campground. The campground WiFi doesn't have a lot of bandwidth and was spotty but worked for browsing and email.

We spent one night here on our way from the Houston area to the Tuscon, AZ area. Communication we excellent. They called to make sure we were coming and give us some information about checking in. Check in was easy and lots of good area information was provided. A nice, clean, and quiet place to stay. We loved taking a walk down to the North Llano River. Our 40' Super C and Ram 1500 pickup fit in the site.

Texas is in a deep freeze so we needed electric to stay warm. We came in after 8 pm and someone came out to greet us and escort us to our site. They also gave us a bag of pecans as a gift. It made a delicious little dessert. We were in a beautiful farm, under the pecan trees. It was quiet and we got a great nights sleep.

South Llano was full so we called Pecan Valley instead. Brenda was beyond accommodating to move a few things around and make room for us. True you won’t find a better stay over on the way to Big Bend but why stay a night when you can call this piece of paradise your own? What was suppose to be a short stay extended a month because the family didn’t want to leave.
Tucked behind a pecan orchard and along the Llano River this small park has big spaces to roam. Perfect for my family to soak up sun, play with goats, free range chickens and watch the deer come up each day. We loved being able to slow down and enjoy this simple life. We will be back in warmer months to play in the river and take the drive to Devil’s Sinkhole to see the bats.
Each spot has a fire pit, table and full hookups. A thriving little town is about 6 miles away with a supermarket, laundromat, amazing BBQ and a really great burger spot. The camp hosts and owners are the nicest neighbors you could ask for - yard eggs, the best candied pecans and firewood all wait you at Pecan Valley RV!!

This park was a change to our original itinerary because the local state park was closed to camping due to the winter storm/weather. The owners were wonderful and the park was very well maintained. We had full hookups, a picnic table and a firepit. There was no laundry there, so we had to go into town for that. There were a lot of deer in the area (they set out feeders), and they had goats and chickens. We even purchased fresh eggs from the owners. The park was along the Llano River - just a short path to the shoreline. Nice park for families with children. South Llano River State Park is close by. It was open for day use, so we spent some of our days hiking and biking over there. We really liked that state park as well.

What a gem we found here when our traveling itinerary changed! Beautiful & peaceful setting along the N Pllano River. We loved seeing all of the deer that came out in the late evening along with some wild pigs. This is a farm setting so you’ll see chickens and goats but still very quiet. You won’t be disappointed.

I can’t go on enough about how this place was everything we we’re looking for and more. My only regret was that we could not stay longer because they were booked. So peaceful. And the owners are so personal and just awesome people.
My first 5 star rating across the board.
The only other two places I feel that can hold up to this we’re a state park and National park. By far the best private campground I have seen. And big rig friendly.

We’re traveling full time and this is one of the best places we’ve stayed! There’s wildlife everywhere, a river out back and a pecan grove out front.
And the camp hosts, Mike and Liz, are wonderful! We arrived in the evening and they escorted us to the site, and when I asked him about local bbq he offered to give me a ride into town!
They are located a few miles outside of town, so that’s something to consider if you don’t have a separate vehicle to drive.
Also, I have to include, the hosts were also very excited to give our dog loves when most are not happy to see him (he’s a pit/lab mix)
