“Gold rush!”

Plumas-Eureka State Park is a great place to discover and learn about California's gold-rush era mining history. The park's museum was once a miner's bunkhouse. The historic mining area includes the Mohawk Stamp Mill, Bushman five-stamp mill, stable, mine office, Moriarity House (historic miner's residence) and the blacksmith shop. The park also offers fishing, hiking, and scenic views of the Sierra Nevada Cascade Range.

We had a nice site backing onto open forest filled with huge pines. Nice camp hosts and a convenient hike nearby through some abandoned mining buildings up to Grassy Lake.
